Re: Justin Grant
Only he knows, Id would say. He may show and give it a go and the answer be no, Don't ya know?
He got thru Springfield but its a different ballgame the champ car on mostly smooth mile than a quarter mile tacky in a sprint. |
Re: Justin Grant
Looking forward to see you this week my friend. Gonna be a fun 3 days.

He is running smack down. Thanks.

JG had an amazing qualifying run diving into the fluff in turn 1, something no one else did. Got up to 4th in the feature before fading.

Re: Justin Grant
dGreat Comeback JG. Total Grit. He's always had a line around Kokomo few others have learned and none mastered. The into the fluff and three dive off the bottom in four he made and won several races with lesser cars there 15 years ago. Baldwin or Hery cars. He'd Beat DD, Cottle and others now and then. DD had the cushion iine a few others have mastered. Cottle the left front in he air middle of track to tire hug line, He still has. Won em both a ton of races. JG's the first that beat em on a regular basis sometimes.
Way to go JG. While a favorite top contender always, We also have Ballou, KTJ and other masters of Kokomo. Kokomo, Like Burg is tough to win at ever to do it often or somewhat often near impossible. Some made it to often wins and many track championships. Rarely not the seasoned good car, great driver win ever gotten there They could win in great cars or lesser ones and do it more than once in the lesser cars. Now there's briggs, Wow. At one point with like five left in feature. He bounces off two front hooks stands car almost straight facing sky. He somehow saves it. Didn't lose much ground and grabs lead back three from end. WOW. DANNER. While Sprint week was blowing by a bottled up Ballou. That race last night he TOOK IT,, JuST TOOK IT. |
Re: Justin Grant
Like the Burg feature had till halfway Ballou and Bacon swappin lead several times.
That race last night had it all. Beginnin domitation followed by competition to lead swaping several iimes to a winner who took it from the other, Not just beat... Cummins like Ballou at sprint week would have won that race 9-10 times.Took it. |
Re: Justin Grant
That was one of the best races I've seen in a LONG time! Danner gets better & better :22:

How about the Topic/Title of the thread...Justin JG Grant...out performed every car at Kokomo tonight excpet 2...the Feature Winner which is one of the all time greats in USAC Nonwing Sprints and what is likely going to be the 2025 USAC National Sprint Car Champion!!!!
3rd place, podium finish, with a broken foot and a hand brake...sits 3rd in points going into King of the Hill...that's just pure awesome and determination of a great driver and he did it without bumping, grinding, or crashing anyone!!!! Way to go JG!!!! |

I didn't go off topic. I praised JG's grit and abilities.
Track was just different second night. Not badl Just never cleaned off to a defined cushion and low line. Understand the whole adjusting track prep for three good nights and not just run on rubber saturdays feature. I also diidn't see the hand brake. He did have it for sprint week try. only thing mentioned is they made a major change so his leg and foot wouldn't be tossed around. I seen after Fri he got out with the boot and brace that never would have fit a normal brake pedal. |
