USAC Teams

Is Matt Westfall not following the USAC sprint tour this year? Same question for the Hoffman 69, I don’t recall seeing any announcements about that ride. Both are absent at Florida openers.

This is the only one about Matt that I recall (& it doesn't mention the sprint car side of it)

https://www.usacracing.com/news/west...racing-in-2025

The Hoffman deal was a long thread and a bunch of back and forth on here a couple months ago. I gather that deal could be over. Smthn about them being the "entrant" but not really the car owner, etc, etc...proly under the convo about Bacon goin doing more winged racing...

Re: USAC Teams

Westfalls owner Ray Marshall retired as a owner at the end of last year. As far as I know he has a midget ride with 4kings dont know about having his own sprint car or not

Hoffman racing has been the car entrant for Bacon the last several ears but the car shop everything was out of Bacon's shop. They have however been running the Little 500 out of their own shop for the last several years and will do so this year. NO USAC this season.

I can't remember when the Hoffman team wasn't running a USAC sprint car. I guess all things change but hate to see it.

SoIllSprinter 2/13/25 9:35 PM

Thank you both. I really liked Westfall, kind of the everyman driver. I was hopeful he might snatch a win this year.
I recall the lengthy discussion on the Hoffman 69 now. Wherever the car was shopped, it’s a shame to lose what is an iconic car of the USAC ranks.

Interesting statement Charles. So the 69 won’t run any usac at all?

To the best of my knowledge, That's what Rob told me. Just the little 500. He don't rule out running other races here or there and plans to race at least thru 2028 for sure. He also don't rule out that with the proper backing being back out there at some point.

Didn't Bacon win with USAC at Ocala 2 nights ago and get second last night with USAC? :11::11:
With the WoO right down the road at Volusia?

The Woo was the late model division at Volusia last few nights. He will be doing mostly wing racing this year and a limited USAC racing.

Brady's driving the Concord American Flagpole car some in Non Wing and Dirt Champ Car. He's still with the 21H for Winged racing and select midget shows.

Bubba needs one of those flag poles for the track. :)

WoO sprints ran at Volusia Feb 5-8, and Brady drove the #16TH, which was Kevin Newton’s second car. USAC was Volusia was Feb. 10-11 and at Ocala Feb. 12-15. Brady drove the #20 at all the USAC shows.

Anyone know what car Bacon was driving? (satire of course)

But they haven't owned it for awhile? Is that correct?

Hoffman racing is owned by Robert Hoffman, Grandson of August (Gus) Son of Richard (Dick) and has been running the little 500 out of their own shop Every year for ten years starting with Tony Stewart who finished 3rd.

They will do so again this year.

Charles is correct about the little 500 car. If u are talking the dirt car Brady's been running, that car is Bradey car ran out of his shop. The 69 is on there to continue the legacy of the Hoffmans. I'm sure Robb compensate Brady for that to be on there. There were several other teams before Brady that did the same thing.

Yes, that was what I meant. Thank you! :)
