Menards still takes checks???

I'm about as old-school as a guy born in 1981 can be; but I thought most stores cut out taking checks OR like scanned them in right then (like a debit transaction)? I realized this was in 2023 tho...

I was born in 1981 (11/16/81) as well. I said the same thing. For all of you old farts on here yes you feel the age the older you get. :D:D

A lot of stores still take checks. How in the hell does one think they are going to get away with something like this?

That aside, when did this guy become owner of Plymouth? Before or after the huge ex-NASCAR grandstand was installed?

You may want to check the dates on the article. It appears to be from late 2023 early 2024. Should have been resolved by now.

Article is from Yesterday ABC57 News South Bend. Click on the link below. for the article and look when it was posted. It was the accident that happened in late 2023. This is the guy that owned South Bend Motor Speedway. He bought Plymouth a year before it went back to asphalt.

Mike, the Daytona Grandstand had already been put it a good 5-6 years before he bought it.

Sorry I misread the article. Didn’t absorb the first line correctly. That’s what happens when you get old.

Also has quite a few unhappy customers waiting for refunds from canceled concerts.

This guy is in financial quicksand. Case was filed on Jan 8th 2025. Quick search shows 5 separate Small Claims judgements in the last 5 years that total almost $13,000. Had ample time to make good on these bad checks from Menard's, but never did which resulted in the Theft charges. I would look for the track to be up for sale, bankruptcy proceedings etc...JMO

Happy New Year Bob, I don't seem to be ganing on you in age but at least I'm still in the Race. The last thing I would do for a business venture is go into the Race Track Business. There are a lot of people smarter than us that have made small fortune's in the Race Track Business. Give the guy an "A" for his efforts. Good to see you are still kicking.
