Re: Lawrenceburg High Limit Friday May 31s
I'm all in with Midget Week.
The weather so far has not been kind, May was brutal. |
At risk of turning this into another Terre Haute... Does anyone know the rules on coolers? Nothing on their website.

Re: Lawrenceburg High Limit Friday May 31s
Hearing might be a little light on car count, last I heard only 26 pre-entered but the 57 is supposed to be there.

Re: Lawrenceburg High Limit Friday May 31s
I have no issue with "only 26" as I figure 24 will be stout running machines with professional drivers
wonder if I can bring a Coleman Stove and Cotton Candy machine into the infield? |
Re: Lawrenceburg High Limit Friday May 31s
There expecting over thirty and recent counts have been good. Think that winner from the 360 race will be there.
And nobody in the infield except track workers. |

Re: Lawrenceburg High Limit Friday May 31s
OK a mini report.
Showed up about five to park in the secret location and chat for about a half hour with the Racin Families. Unbelievable! Jen and Dan stopped over for some Kodak moments and I went in. When I got there there were a ton of cars out front. The back stretch crowd was out in full force but the stands seemed empty. Well that filled in nicely. Gonna say the crowd was as good as the USAC midwest opener or a bit better. The track, They're keeping it graded, tacky and fast. Never watered all night and in fact tilled the cushion to widen it twice. Sitting up in turn two it was eating tire groove clay all night long and the walls needed scraping all night. Winged racing isn't my thang. The heats were winged heats. The dash was interesting because Larson took a spin on lap three and grabbed two possitions in the final three laps. The feature was Rico and Larson. After a mid race Red Larson kinda dominated. he could run the cush or low or a combination of enter on the cushion and cutting down to the bottom and he even splt several side by side racers. That being said about lap 24 Rico was running him down before traffic kinda held him up. All being said and done. It was a good night. There were a ton of kids in the stands. Im assumng mostly to see Larson and Rico. Feature was done about 945. Some things Id change. PA needs to be louder (I know, Im a complainer about too loud but someone needs to step out of that booth while hot laps are idling and see how well it can be heard. at idle. I don't expect anyone to hear during racing. I was impressed with having the gates open and early sales. Didn't notice more than maybe a thirty people line at the main gate at any point. They got the people in and seated before the races started. Anyway. Good night out. Three winged shows in a row for me though has me longing for Midget week. LETS GO! |
