I look at this schedule and it's SURVIVAL MODE.

The track has that Dam overflow project going on. Not sure how long it's supposed to last.

Must have picked up a new title sponsor for 2024? Wonder if that’s just for them or a new title sponsor for all the USAC sprint car divisions? Their Facebook page with the schedule posted and all their information it says…. USAC/CRA races from Perris Auto Speedway are not streamed online.

Good to see the Oval Nationals back even if it is just USAC-CRA.

Nights of Destruction are the biggest crowds by far. Out draw sprint cars by more than 2 to one with a much smaller purse.

Scott Daloisio 11/23/23 4:13 PM

Not survival mode, Chuck. The boss finely got tired of losing money on stock cars shows. Got rid of two classes that were not pulling their weight and added the other three to sprint car nights on an alternating basis. As far as the dam project goes, it has not started. And who knows if it ever will! They announced three or four start dates going back a three or four years and they never get going. Heard two or three months ago, and not sure how true it is or not, the state had not put the jobs out for bid yet. Still 14 or 15 years left on the 20 year lease that Oval signed a few years back. As Don stated, “if they ever start the project, we will work with them as best as possible. We are not shutting down.”

Scott, do you know if USAC/CRA will be on Flo next year? I miss watching those.

Scott Daloisio 11/23/23 4:41 PM

As of yet, I do not know. I would think unless they up the ante, probably will not be back on.

Dirtfan 11/23/23 5:53 PM

Thanks for the clarification Scott.

I get that. Don's gotta do what he's gotta do.

I see it here. The destruction night/monster trucks sell the place out and then some. Got no problem with them it it keeps the oval portion going.

Not a real surprise. I attended the Western World at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, AZ earlier this month. I guess their premier class is modifieds. The guy sitting beside me said he had never seen cars go that fast at the track and he had a lot of interesting questions. The woman behind me said "I don't like these cars, they don't crash into each other as often as the other ones." Sadly, that shows the mentality of a lot of race fans. From most of the modified shows that I have ever had to sit through, many of them could be referred to as Nights of Destruction.
