Music Selection
I don't know who selects the music for the the USAC race broadcasts but a good part of it is truly terrible. I have a few other words for it but I would probably be banned.

Chet has some very eclectic musical selections that I find very good!

Re: Music Selection
I think he should play some Jonzun crew, Oingo Boingo, Men without Hats and of course, Devo. Some Nightwish, Epica and others.
Hey, he did play Gary Neuman. |

More Richard Cheese please!!
If you’ve never heard of him, look it up. |
I love the selection, just wish they'd go ahead and license the music for broadcast, which they don't I'm told

Perhaps they play some of these songs? (I can't say I know all of the song names, but I've heard of most of the artists and if I looked them up, maybe I do know them... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVHOd-NItzI |

first time I thought I showed up to a disco and not a race track was around 1990 at Limaland, I not positive on the year but Sarah Fisher was driving the Mead #9. Anyhow, they didn't announce much of anything, just music blaring constantly between races. It was a Ohio Sprint Speedweek race though and was so dusty you couldn't see most of the action.

Re: Music Selection
When I announced out in California in the 70s, I had some music to play, but only used it when they were working the track before qualifying and before the features.

No music is nice so you can actually talk to someone!

Down through the years, one of the things I have learned people gripe about most at race tracks is the music. Bottom line is, when it comes to music you cannot please everyone. Everybody has different tastes in music. Every song played is going to be “music” to some fan’s ears and nails on a chalkboard to others.

Re: Music Selection
I enjoy conversing with the people I go to the races with, or better yet, bench racing/getting to know those around Me (without butting in, becoming a nuisance, I been going to races for a while)
Music isn't necessary. It is handy at times when long track prep is going on, but the volume should be low enough as not to bother. Somebody at Flo has some issues. They didn't get enough attention (I think it's a requirement to get a job there actually) The "William Shatner Golden Throat" shtick is as worn out as drop the hammer. Note to anybody on Flo Broadcast Team It's about the racing, not YOU. Get over yourselves |
