When Mike and Judy ran the show, employees from the race track would come to the neighborhood just to the North (aka Snootyville) and hand out free tickets to a race. Personally I thought it was a show of goodwill and community partnership. I know there are plenty of others outside this neighborhood who complain, but I thought it was a show of good faith. Might have even prevented some complaints.

Never seen a track so locked down that not even 1 car got lapped. Great crowd, great atmosphere and great seeing some folks I haven’t seen in awhile. Just a shame that such a meaningful race was ruined. Can’t win them all I guess. Unbelievable, can’t make this up.

Those heats teased us to such heights that I thought this would be a feature that would be talked about for some time. Unfortunately lots of divisions and lots of cars burning lots of rubber. I was trying to decide between irp and Bloomington…. I was like asphalt is just the bottom….I’m gonna go watch some sliders. Wow was I wrong. And one more gripe… that food line was just out of control wasn’t it?

Re: 10th Josh Burton Memorial Friday May 26th
Although I've seen a ton of great races put on by this track operator, this was by no means one of them. Those guys are right. Not only was this one bad, it was historically bad. Maybe the worst race I've seen since I went to Banker's Life Fieldhouse (I think that's what they were still calling it, then), when someone thought it would be a good idea to run a midget race in a space that was designed to play basketball games on. At one point, when the die had been cast on how this race would turn out, I turned my attention to watching the audience, from my vantage point, standing behind the rail at the top of the stands. In unison, they were almost completely motionless. Except for a few children, who were playing with their glow-in-the-dark stick thingies.
I had a good night at the track, though. All the ceremonies for Josh and Darlene were great. It's always a treat to hear Josh's buddy to the National Anthem in his very cool and unique way. The crowd was enormous. And I got to see and talk to a lot of people I like. And come feature time, if anything, it was a good people watching experience. Just not a Race of the Year candidate, by any means.:) Jerry |

Someone please tell me why I continue to go to tracks that run 4 classes of cars on one of their biggest nights of the year when I know darn well that the track will not be touched all night long.
I try my best to support shows like this but it is getting difficult. Never seen a 30 lap race on a bullring ,in my 40 years of attending races, where the leaders did not catch the back of the field in a follow the leader race. Unbelievable. |

And yes the food service was woefully inadequate! I'm going to give the facility one more chance, either for midget week, or Sprint week. I just hope they don't run for four classes at those events!

Best bet is to bring some snacks, stop at a Subway, or pick up a pizza and bring it in. Good to see you again and that crazy sidekick of yours as always :6: |
Re: 10th Josh Burton Memorial Friday May 26th
I was at the track about 10 years ago when the same thing happened. Great heats but follow the leader huggy pole with no passing like a freight train. It was really weird.

Re: 10th Josh Burton Memorial Friday May 26th
Ive seen several bad races over the years and as long as I keep showin Ill probably see several more. Go Blu- mington
