Now Rob; you of all people know how stories get blown out of proportion.
It's a news story the same as Bobby Unser getting lost on his snow mobile or Little Al and his numerous run ins.(Not picking on the Unsers) Just fodder. |
Re: Why is this a news story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
54 in a 35 is weak... :Steer:rolling

Re: Why is this a news story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
It was on TV last night. Ch 13 was riding with here and made a comment are you driving fast? That was in the spring. When you have the big name they print it.
:dologob: Dec 31, 2008 11:20 AM EST She's one of the best drivers in the Indy Racing League, but Danica Patrick may be headed to defensive driving school. Earlier this month Danica got her second speeding ticket this year. She was going 54 in a 35-mph zone. She's also scheduled to go to court next month. Last April Sports Director Dave Calabro was brave enough to ride with Danica. |

Re: Why is this a news story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
It's the same for all celebrities. Some actor named Matt Dillon got bagged in VT, and it's on the front page of Boston.com (which means it will be featured in tomorrow's Boston Globe).

Re: Why is this a news story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Why are these stories about Danica and Matt Damon news?
Because we read them and are talking about them. In more simple terms, it helps sell newspapers and air time because a lot of people will read the story, or listen to it on the radio or television. Here we are a half a continent away from where they happened and we are talking about it. That's Journalism 101. News is defined as information that people WANT to know; or NEED to know. All of the celebrity news falls into the want to know. We might not need to know but we sure are curious. Jim Morrison |
Re: Why is this a news story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
