Volusia-Monday & Tuesday

Looks like we wait a little longer to see the USAC sprinters. Press release states no Flo coverage on the 13 & 14th since they are non points events. You have to have DirtVision to catch the shows. What a dick punch.

I'm going to do a one month Dirt Vision deal for $40 then cancel.

You get two USAC Sprint races and four WOO races before the month is up.

$6.67 per race. You can't beat that with a stick.:D

Pancho Stapp 2/12/23 7:45 AM

Thanks for the heads up OC 👍🏼

They are making up the rained out A main from last night in a couple of weeks when they go back to Volusia, so that’ll be a good show and another added bonus should you choose to buy the monthly pass. At the risk of sounding like a salesman for DV, you’ll also get the March 10-11 Xtreme Midget shows

Cool! That puts me at $4.44 per race! Pretty soon they'll be paying me to watch:D:D:D

With those math skills, I assume you’ve already figured out the entire year subscription gives you each race for even less than that…

Dirt Vision has only two races I REALLY want to watch. The others are collateral damage

I'm surprised DV is showing USAC
Fortunately I have both (but not enough time on my hands)
"Dick punch"??? Thats a new one to me... I didn't know Draymond Green was driving a sprint car (Or running Flo?) :14:

Thanks for the info. One month for $40. Took me a while to figure out how to cancel after a month. I see it as $20 per usac show vs $25 and the rest is a bonus. Too bad it’s not paying points.

The sad thing is DirtVision will make money buy screwing the USAC fans. Hope Eldora does the same to DirtVision in May.

Can you elaborate?

Re: Volusia-Monday & Tuesday

USAC races are on Flo. Last week the All Stars were on Flo from Volusia. Not having them caused USAC to have to make this non points, to honor their Flo contract. Now people are buying a month of DirtVision to watch 2 races. Not sure this was done in the best interest of the sport. I just wonder how the Outlaws would react if a track like Eldora made the same decision against them in May.
We will see if the sprint cars tonight will be used as a support class for the late models. I hope not.

berks co 2/13/23 5:32 PM

It’s sort of weird to have non points paying races but not unheard of

I mean they could have just cancelled the event given they gave up on Xtreme sprints.Split broadcasts are the worst anyway. If the value isn’t there for you, don’t buy it, no one is forcing you to do anything.

The post that showed the running order of the show says Sprints before late models

I'm gonna watch, but I prefer "Traditional" sprint cars on bullrings
Volusia is a fast 1/2 mile & it could be boring... we'll see

Ya know, you just talked me into doing that. Good idea!

On the PPV option on my TV it is listed as World of Outlaw Late Models plus non wing sprints. I figure the late models prefer to run after the sprints. They like a slicker track.

This same argument you're going through now...is why you rarely see co-sanctioned races anymore also...

Smells good cooling on the window until you start cutting...

I don't recall Terre Haute ever being boring.

I've never been to a race there, but I tried... rained out both times
Wanna make it there some day :31:
I don't doubt what you're saying :23:

I am certain the USAC races at Volusia were always Non Points events. Bottom line , the races were ran efficiently and both Features had some drama and excitement.

Don't be upset at Dirtvision, USAC signed the contract knowing the terms. They easily could have passed on having the event.

USAC teams really appreciate having the opportunity for an extra two events while they're down here in Florida. Makes the trip even more enticing & worthwhile.

I may be old, but i remember a time that if you wanted to watch a race then you actually had to go to that race. If you weren't able to attend then you had to hope that a buddy went to tell you about it or wait for your favorite racing paper to come in the mail to read all about it. Not being able to watch 2 races on flo doesn't seem all that bad to me.

Re: Volusia-Monday & Tuesday

For those that watched either via DirtVision or in person, I thought the racing last night was very good. Yes, in the feature Jake Swanson had them all covered, but there was a lot of passing for position back in the field and lots of lanes being run. Overall, I thought the USAC sprints represented themselves very well, and I hoe they get to come back to Volusia next year.

Therealether 2/14/23 9:28 PM

I agree. I may be biased because I live here, but I absolutely love Volusia. Been going there since it was pavement and they ran sprints on the old 3/8 mile dirt where the kart track is now. I think USAC will be back, and hopefully next year it's for points and more money.

flagboy55 2/14/23 9:28 PM

And I know some folks don’t give a lick about fenders, growing up in perhaps the only part of Indiana that’s late model country, I appreciate them also. And NoDrama is correct, very efficient program

Re: Volusia-Monday & Tuesday

If the USAC sprint cars didn’t make some fans at Volusia Speedway Park tonight (Tuesday) then those people will never be fans. Great race tonight between Daison Pursley and Emerson Axsom! Both drove like 10 year veterans, not a rookie and last years ROY. Fun night!

It was DirtCar late models Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Volusia. WoO late models are Thursday through Saturday.
That’s why it was only $7000 to win late models Monday and Tuesday. Tonight the late model field is split into 3 groups and there is a feature for each group paying $5000 to win.

BrentTFunk 2/15/23 4:23 PM

Re: Volusia-Monday & Tuesday

I thought the race between Axsom and Pursley was fantastic. I also thought the late models really wore the track out. After their heats the track was black, slick through the middle. It was very tough to pass. I thought Swanson's run on Monday was also impressive. Not much passing thru the field last night. Hope Pursley's motor is ok. Happy for KO motorsports, and Team AZ. Pursley winning may be the feel-good story of the year.
