DATES

Lakeside Speedway will be treated to a $50,000-to-win event on April 11, and Burlington, Iowa (April 25) as well as Kokomo Speedway (May 2) will each see $23,023-to-win races during the 2023 season.

I assume you’ll see everyone at Lakeside, first race, $50k to win, good deal.

flagboy55 12/12/22 10:38 PM

Wish they could’ve rolled it all out, but not complaining. Obviously Kokomo is a wonderful addition as it pretty much makes great racing regardless of discipline. I hope that they go back to LPS. Seems like they should be grandfathered in as the inaugural event of the series

I wonder if it these tracks are footing the bill for these shows or is high limit renting the track? Either way I wish them well.

berks co 12/13/22 12:11 PM

My guess is rent
Larson can afford it, takes the risk/reward of a high paying race off of track ownership

dsc1600 12/13/22 12:39 PM

Rumors are that this deal is similar to the LM Flo events that also happen mid-week. Flo throws in about $20-30k and then the promotion team is on the hook for the remainder.

My personal opinion and speculation is they rent the track. When the 2 day Late Model show came to Kokomo, there was hardly noone in the bleachers. Tracks cannot afford that financially, yet that LM show is coming back in 2023 to Kokomo again. Difference this time is 2 different shows, 2 different dates, both on Monday's, in the Spring/Summer instead of a 2 day back to back show in the fall. With this being said, my guess is renting the track out bc then the owners/promoters are good to go financially regardless of the crowd numbers.

Maybe they’ll take the wings off once and run Terre Haute Hulman Classic on Wednesday in May? $50,000 to win. Now that’s a high limit raced I’d go to!

Are there enough seats at Wayne City IL to contribute very much to a purse like that? [and iirc some of those seats are subject to dirt showers] Or is it Wayne County Ohio?

I would too but sadly that is the last place those guys would run traditional.

I know it’s far fetched and will not happen but what happens if all of the WoO platinum members decide to run all of the High Limit shows (or at least 9) and they all lose the ability to run for the championship?

Wayne County Speedway is in Ohio!

Assuming all the remaining races are also $23k to win, the 12 High Limit shows pay a maximum of $339k to win, which is still less than the WoO champ will make assuming they get the full loyalty bonus. I don’t think you’ll see a full mutiny this year.

There was also a point fund for the Castoroil racing night in America for LM's
2022 Castrol FloRacing Night in America Points Fund
1 30,000
2 15,000
3 8,000
4 7,000
5 6,000
6 5,000
7 4,000
8 3,750
9 3,500
10 3,000
TOTAL 85,250
**Championship pays $75,000 if driver enters and competes in all contested series events

It will be interesting how many sign on for the full WoO tour. You could now only run maybe thirty races and never run for less than 20k to win except qualifying nights for like the Nationals. Never underestimate the draw of more time at home than on the road that a full tour involves.

Also I would imagine car owners and sponsors will have a big say in what they do.

No kidding :14:. I should have worded what I said a bit better. I don't think they would be racing on a track that small.
