Du QUOIN’S TED HORN 100 POSTPONED TO MONDAY, SEPT. 5

Du Quoin, Illinois (September 3, 2022)………Saturday’s steady rainfall has forced the postponement of the USAC Silver Crown National Championships’ Ted Horn 100 presented by MiteXstream to Labor Day, September 5 at the Du Quoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds.

A big field of Silver Crown cars are expected for the popular race, which is now set to take the green at 1:00pm Central Monday.

The Rust-Oleum Automotive 100 for the ARCA Menards Series is still scheduled to run Sunday night, September 4, as well as preliminary action for the DIRTcar Modifieds.

ARCA’s Sunday, September 4, event schedule will begin with practice at 4:15pm, qualifying at 6:00pm, Modified racing at 6:30pm, and the Rust-oleum Automotive 100 at 8:00pm.

USAC’s Monday, September 5, schedule will see pits opening at 7:00am, grandstands at 10am, hot laps from 10:00-10:45am, qualifying 11am, Modifieds at 11:45am, USAC last chance at Noon, Modifieds at 12:30pm and Ted Horn 100 at 1:00pm.

Tickets will be available on race day or by calling the Du Quoin Fair office at 618-542-1535. Info can also be obtained by calling the Track Enterprises office at 217-764-3200 or visiting the website at www.trackenterprises.com.

The ARCA race at DuQuoin was postponed until Monday after the USAC race.

31 cars, great track, especially for running in the daytime. Crowd filtering in.

Cochrum on the pole. Leary, Cottle, Seaver, and Grant top five.

Watching the big cars throw rooster tails qualifying is truly a thing of beauty. I will put this race on my bucket list.🏁

Where was Drake with a lot of the cars going to the pits would have been nice to have a pit reporter he does a great job

Very strange race. A war of attrition for sure. I’m glad they got it in and the rain held off. Pretty nice crowd.

Looked good from where I was watching,just don't understand about the yellows,used to yellows counted until lap #? then didn't after lap #?

I think part of the confusion on the counting of yellow flag laps is related to the red flags. As I understand it, the yellow flag laps while the field is being restarted and re-aligned after a red flag don’t count because a driver could conceivably go a lap down waiting to be restarted.

On the dirt miles, caution laps count up to lap 98. The race must finish with a green-white-checker.

In the event of a red flag, the laps do not start counting again until the green flag is displayed. That's due to the fact that the full field has to be restarted by push trucks. In that situation any car could go several laps down while waiting to be pushed away by no fault of their own. That's why the laps don't count in that situation.
