Dang Richie, Got this up by time I got home. Thanks!

Long and boring night at the track. Way too much down time. IMW has lost it's luster. 24 cars including 8 rookies?
Brady in the house but not in a midget?
CJ in the house but in the pace truck?
Gave up and left one hour after the midget feature and only 9 laps into the sprint feature.

Lawrenceburg always has the lowest car count for midget week, and as for the down time they just do that to sell more beer and hot dogs. I'm sure ol rudi is still counting his money from the woo show.

Some people couldn't have a good time if they tried. I enjoyed the whole night. Plenty of sprints and midgets for a whole show and if Brady, Seavey and grant running the ragged edge don't thrill you, You're clearly overdosed on downers

I talked to a couple people last night and said, Well I guess I'll go home and read how bad it was. Hate it when Im right. Also met a former neightbor I hadn't seen in years and met a couple of IOW'ers.

Great night, perfect weather. I got a bit dusty. Congrats to Buddy Kofoid and J.G on their wins. Buddy's in a zone and I think if there is any night of midget week he's going to be beat it would be tonight at Tri State. Enjoy him while he's here.

I got home late and watched the replays on flo. I thought is was a good show although I skipped through the stuff I didn't want to see. I was at a local track and didn't leave there until Sunday morning, two weeks in a row now.

Midget feature was over in good time. I try to look at the positives. Had fun at the track, but I was very disappointed by the lack of effort on the track. It was hard and black before the first car came out. I don't mind if it gets dusty, but it was obvious the track hadn't seen much attention since the last race. Charles you are always preaching doom and gloom about tires, think last night was easy on them? It was sunny and breezy, so I wasn't expecting a super wet track. Wish all tracks would run just midgets and sprints.

Re: Usac: Lawrenceburg usac indiana midget week results: 6/4

I'm in agreement with the lack of effort. Walked in at 7pm, sat in turn 2, and could barely see the dusty backstretch for sprint and modified hot laps. Track looked rock hard. Thankfully the water truck came out. Track was definitely a tire eater. As for the midgets getting checkered at 9:57, it could have even been earlier had it not been for dragging the night out with multiple down times between races. I can take the down time for accidents, but sitting waiting between races is painful for the fans. I also gave up about 10:25pm after the sprint car red flag, staring at a 2 hour ride home. I guess it took 3 hours to watch 10 1/2 races. If the track was happy with their attendance on one of their biggest races of the year, good for them.

Richie works for USAC who had nothing to do with the sprint car part of the evening. He's telling you USAC completed their part of the show at 9:57.

The sprint car feature pushed off about 15 minutes after the Midget interviews were over, the extra water session was worth the wait if you ask me, watching everyone searching early and then ripping the cushion after the dust got blown off. I introduced myself to Charles and we talked for about five minutes, we agreed on several things and disagreed on a couple things and never once had to call each other an idiot like everyone seems to do online. I look forward to our next conversation.

Charles is right, enjoy Kofoid while he is here. Right now they have a car and a driver that are on point and no one is touching them. It was a good night for a Justin Grant fan, second in the midgets and a great run in the sprints to get the win. Emerson Axsom has a top notch team with great notes and he is only getting better and I always enjoy Logan Seavey.

I am not a fan of downtime but I don't think that the track had as much as people think, they spent alot of time cleaning up crashes and fluids last night and thats the way it goes sometimes.

Hey, it was great meeting you as well. Enjoyed the convo and I think part of our convo was on grant and dissagreing is fine.

By Contrast there was 70 minutes of Track prep at Tri State, the show got done about the same time Their time. Not a gripe, Just a observation but it's only a problem here.

Lawrenceburg gets rough when they put a ton of water on it. USAC probably had a say in what kind of track they wanted. Especially with midgets. Personally, I thought the track was awesome. Watching “send it” sliders from entering turn 1 to mid turn 2 is as good as it gets. And watching guys tip toe that thin cushion in 2 was edge of your seat! The night got a little late, but I do think the wrecks had a lot to do with that. Only thing I didn’t understand was why they packed the water in for 5 minutes after putting it down. Could you have the race cars do that? Just push them off and let them run it in for 2 laps? But overall, great night of racing at The Burg!

I agree and you had a battle for second and third in the midgets with cars running sixty feet apart from one another one on the bottom, two up top.

I've seen burg awesome tacky, But you gotta get the water table down and the track packed in before it can be worked that way. Only two races and one set of hotlaps so far before the WoO show. It's almost like there's a spring in turn one when it's been real rainy. He kept it smooth and not rubbered down.

Eldora got famous from racing like that. Not the run around the bottom it is mostly now.

cmiracingvids 6/6/22 1:48 PM

Side note. I left after the red in the sprint feature. What happened to Brady Bacon? I figured he had it wrapped up.

He hit the turn two wall and got a flat right front.

Are you sure you didn't hear about the underground spring from the promoter's wife on a Facebook video?

You are not allowed to question anything about Tri-State/Haubstadt Charles. It's the Holy Grail of all race tracks :17: and can do no wrong.

No, I've been going there since 1970. Turns one and two follow the original track outline and the hole was there before the new track. Putnamville does it in turn three sometimes both act the same way a soft spot where everything else is firm..

You are right, but not in the way you want to be. I quit going to Eldora for a while, because I got tired if them never grading the black, just watering it. It was not for me. I will take it the way it has been the last few years over the old days. They still run the top. The exception is wing cars. Which makes sense. If everyone is flat out every second. the shortest way will always be the fastest way around.

I started going in about eighty six. Camped several times. Earl would grade it down, then back up again, water it and sheepsfoot till about four am. Then be back at it about eight. Dump about eight loads of water throughout the day and by the second set of hotlaps it would be black. By halfway thru the feature waves of dust blew down the main grandstand. But the racing on the wall with massive bomb sliders had everyone out of their seat.

Just seen something Kaylee Bryson posted. Her In car footage of the heat race flip. Look at it. All I can say is wow. and they changed a axle and pushed her back off. It's on her Facebook page, Kaylee Bryson Racing.
