Headin' that way right now....spending some quality time in the Atlanta airport for now! Hope it works out and ends up being a great show - the cars are gonna be there and it'll be a good time regardless!

We're heading down from Des Moines tomorrow afternoon, pending the stupid weather. Hopefully they'll have I-35 clear by then.

Frank, be careful. Those hooligans riding with you may well be suspect!

Don, you have a good point there. They are mighty suspicious characters. I'll be as careful as possible.

I'm in! Although KC is only three hours from Lincoln, so I'd be ashamed of my race fan status if I weren't going.

Re: Kansas City roll call

These were the very first set of midgets to hit the track. As the practice went on the track widened out (as much as it could for a track this size) and there was passing. Tomorrow and Saturday it is going to be even better.

Yeah, its not a permanent track with tradition in Indiana, but I think all things considered this will be a great event. As an open wheel fan from Missouri any event that brings in big name drivers like the ones that are in Kemper Arena is awesome.

I can only make it out to Indiana once a year and I can't afford the Chili Bowl so it is disappointing to see other open wheel fans on this thread be so negative about a first time event.

Re: Kansas City roll call

I give credit to all that have built this up but getting all the names they got to come to this event (saying it was the same size as Tulsa) it is very disappointing.

To give you an example of the size difference, for those understanding gear ratios, Tulsa is 7.75 to 7.98 for an esslinger....At Kansas city it is a 9.75.

Alot smaller.

Re: Kansas City roll call

what happened to a true 1/4? More banking than Tulsa?

What happens when a couple of cars end up in the infield? Doesn't look good.

This is starting to look like a big sell and a big disappointment.

Hey Joe you are the man dude. Keep preaching that good word. It must be awesome for you and your fellow Missouri fans to have a lot of today's sprint and midget hero's racing in your own backyard. I know it doesn't happen very often.

Re: Kansas City roll call

The first time you see Duquoin you think you can't race there, but it is racy as hell. A little bank and some tweaking and it will be alright. Better than not racing.

Maybe a one and done and maybe it will work out. Sounds like they have busted ass to get it ready as it was dropped in others laps it seems.

Racers always find a way to race and if you can run FT. Wayne, you can run there.
