COLD TEMPS CANCEL LAWRENCEBURG

Lawrenceburg, Indiana (April 1, 2022)……….The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event scheduled for this Saturday, April 2, at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway has been canceled.

Due to the forecast calling for less-than-ideal cold temperatures, Lawrenceburg Speedway and USAC officials will not conduct the event, which was to be the Midwest opener for the series at the 3/8-mile, high banked dirt oval.

The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship season will now return to Lawrenceburg Speedway twice more in 2022, on Sunday night, July 24, for Indiana Sprint Week and on Saturday night, October 1, for the Fall Nationals.

Lawrenceburg Speedway resumes racing action next Saturday night, April 9, with the Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints, KOI Auto Parts* Modifieds, Impact Sports Pure Stocks and the Bessler's U Pull & Save Hornets.* Pits open at 4pm Eastern with the front gates opening at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and opening ceremonies at 7pm.* Admission prices are $17 for adults, $7 for kids age 7-12 and free for children ages 6 and under.* Pit passes are $32 for all ages.

Three races remain during the month of April for USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car racing, on Saturday, April 16, at Chillicothe, Ohio’s Atomic Speedway, on April 29 at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway and on April 30 at Haubstadt, Indiana’s Tri-State Speedway.

Not to be an @$$ but wonder if cancelling had anything to do with drivers boycotting the event and a possible low car count.

None. Nada. Zip. Zero.

Too cold to test for altered tires,couldn't decide which testing facility to use,which one would give the answer that was wanted,or which test to use,Rapid test or PCR.

I red one post that said it was due to USAC's tire test ruling after lab test. Keith Kunz Motorsports & I believe Shane Cockrum where two of the teams.

I really can't blame Mr. Rudisell for not wanting to shoulder the financial risk with both the weather and the crap show playing out. The main thing that peeves me is that the crap show wasn't taken care of during the nearly two month gap in the schedule. I feel that if this all played out a couple of weeks ago, then the pitchforks wouldn't be brandished emotionally and maybe cooler heads would've prevailed.

One last observation: the forecast for Saturday here in Cincinnati hasn't really changed much all week. The change from Monday to today is 3 degrees colder and a smaller chance of rain. I actually recruited 3 more attendees with the revelation of the announced earlier start. :15:

Hopefully Atomic isn't scared off too- that'll be my new "opener" in two weeks. :31:

Never had Facebook, so that made me laugh, but back then it just played out on good ole USACfans.com. So much so that USAC less than politely asked "the fans" to keep their hands off their trademark. :D

gonna boycott ,Let me know how that works out for them ,might want to check past history on that . Don’t think it will cause fans to think to themselves woo there might not be two cars there let’s not go.
