Jim just passed away peacefully and pain free. Like my last post in the other thread, words cannot express how thankful he was for all your friendships, thoughts and prayers. He won’t have to worry about marking seats anymore as he will have the best view forever. Love you my friend and will always cherish our time together.

I had a feeling Jim knew, I lost a very close friend about 2 years ago, and he called to tell me he was going to leave, but he was good with the way he was leaving, I know I'll never forget him, and he is content, just as Jim is now, RIP Jim, you had your way. Bob

Ditto. And Tony & Amy are angels. Jim’s angels. Great friends who look out for each other. Jim was a lucky man to have so many people love and care for him. And we were lucky for Jim’s friendship and love over the years.

Really sorry to read this. Jim sounded like a guy who was legendary and a friend to all. Kudos to you Chief, for your care for Jim and encouraging others to pray and reach out to him. Rest in peace.

I'm at a loss for words. Jim is the first friend I made on IOW. When Shondra introduced us we became instant friends. I loved our phone calls during the week where we solved all the problems in the racing world.

I'm gonna miss you buddy!!

RIP Jim. I didn't know him as long as many of you. I enjoyed talking to him. He was a true tough guy.

Regretfully I never had the chance to meet Jim. He certainly was among the IOW legends. May he Rest In Peace

I was preparing to visit Jim when I saw this thread.

Visitation and service will be Thurs the 13th from 2-6 with service at 6pm at Browning Funeral Home. They should have obit posted on their website tomorrow.

Like his whole life he did it his way. RIP Jim, it was a pleasure talking and seeing you at the race tracks around Indiana. You were one of a kind and we be sorely miss by everyone who had the fortune to meet you and know you. God Bless!!!

Beautiful service last night to celebrate the life of Cowboy Jim. There were laughs, tears and lots & lots of stories spun. Was hard to say goodbye so we didn’t. We said see ya later, save our seats for us. We love ya friend. ♥️🏁♥️

That was an absolutely perfect service! The preacher was definitely the correct choice to conduct it.

Climbing the steps on my way to the press box at Haubstadt, I'd see Jim and had to talk with him a bit. One of the good guys.
