Chili bowl on Speed
 

The PRI promo cover on this weeks NSSN says that the Chili Bowl is on Speed. Doesnt say if its live or tape delayed or give a broadcast time.

What I heard is that it's a two week tape-delay.

Possibly a 2 week delay.......Damn, I hope not. We (family and friends) had a bigger party watching the Chili Bowl live last year than we had watching the Super Bowl. Ah, well............

Per the Chili Bowl site - it will be a 1 week tape delay. To be broadcast on January 24th.

"Chili Bowl on TV: Portions of the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals presented by General Tire will be broadcast on SPEED TV on a one-week tape-delayed basis on Saturday night, January 24. Additional details will be available soon."

simple, show more racing. the condenced version 2 months later was much better. Fill in that dead time with the earlier races not hard to do.

I also like the tape delayed version. I know everybody will know who won by the time it is on but live coverage is such a hit or miss when it comes to doing it. If you cover live racing on tv week after week you know the ins and outs but when you only do it once a year it's very tough to make it come across to all the fans in an appealing way.

There was a Super Bowl last year? Ah, well.....:sleep:
