To Ron’s defense they use to just play that song over the Memorial Day Weekend race. Then they started playing it what seems like every race. Maybe this time they didn’t because they got a late start with the weather and more was on the way. Personally I think once during Memorial Day is fine. Please don’t bash my patriotism or Ron’s if you don’t know us. In the words of I Love Dirt Track Racing, God Bless the USA and the freedoms we enjoy!

The only song we should stand for is the Star Spangled Banner. It is blasphemous and unpatriotic to stand for God Bless the USA. That is NOT our National Anthem!!!

I agree with Chief, Once or twice a season on Memorial day and Labor day is enough , not every race. I am handicapped and its tough standing that long (prayer God Bless the USA National Anthem) and don"t even question my patriotism (2 tours in Nam) I wonder if some of you who are questioning even did your PATRIOT duty?

Lee Greenwood is a has been Canadian entertainer. He is primarily interested in the commercial profits, nothing to do with patriotism.

Re: Mscs 5/15/21

So three of you have lied now. Care to continue?

Greenwood was born in South Gate, California, a few miles south of Los Angeles. After the separation of his parents, he grew up near Sacramento[3] on the poultry farm of his maternal grandparents. At the age of seven, he started singing in church. In 1969, he joined the Chester Smith Band and had his first television appearance. A short time later, he worked with the country musician Del Reeves.

Also raises millions for charitable foundations.

PJ Wright 5/17/21 7:43 PM

Well what started as a thread about a sprintcar race in Indiana has gone off, WAY off course to now being about the nationality of a country music singer. Bizarre.

Yup, I was just glad you all got to see a sprint car race. :)

wildman92 5/17/21 10:39 PM

Didn’t realize the only song you can stand up for is the National Anthem. My bad. Can’t we all just get along and enjoy the Kodak moments that this great nation allows us to have? God bless the USA (standing as I type this) 🇺🇸

Unlike you I will apologize and accept responsibility when I am wrong. There is a huge difference between being wrong and lying. Apparently you feel free to use unsupported hyperbolic allegations to question other's patriotism and character.

I accept responsibility for anything I say or do. And I didn't question Rons patriotism. I know he's a good guy. Just thought it unbelievable as I said that a song is THAT BIG A DEAL. OK?? Got it? Good.

What an inane and useless argument.

Wow! I didn't think my innocuous comment would create such a firestorm. I am ready to move on to the more serious topic of racing and hoping that we have good weather for the rest of the month of May!:)

Now for a serious complaint... I wish every track would count down the laps and not up. I sometimes forget if the feature is 25, 30 or 40 laps and my pea size brain would appreciate a countdown.:D

Actually that happened to me tonight at Circle City. It was about 10 laps in before I realized to was a 35 lap race.

Dirtfan 5/21/21 6:26 AM

Big Willy & racefan20,what you're experiencing is called CRS,it happens to all of us.😀
