Prayers for Dave Darland
 

I'd like you all to check Brendas post on FB for the facts, But the short story is he had a mild stroke and got confused on the way to Bloomington. They found him in INDY where he spent the night in hospital. CT scan showed clot on the brain. Seems in good spirits with still some confusion.

Prayers for a quick and full recovery DAVE
Chuck, Who'll never forget him setting up t shirt trailer and seeing me in darn near heat exhaustion and coming to ask if I needed help.

Update: just met with neurologist and he was pleased with Dave's improvements. Still a little stumbling of words and memory but they say that he will continue to improve daily. Thankfully we found him in time and got immediate care for him. He will probably stay here in the hospital for another day or so to make sure of no seizure activity and or decline.
At this time we are just needing continued prayers for a quick recovery.

Respect their privacy folks and don't rattle the phone continuously and keep it to family and closest for visits. Prayers for complete recovery and drs and nurses ability to get him there.

Questioned posting this but Brenda wanted to quash any rumors or stories as he didn't race Bloomington as advertised.

Talked to Dave a few times & he was always friendly & open with a total stranger
& obviously a great driver :22:

Prayers for Dave and his family. Agree with above comment, always had time to talk to fans and made you feel like you were the most important person he was going to talk with today.

Our racing family sends our prayers and thoughts for a speedy recovery for dd and his family. Get well soon. Thanks.

By the way, just met a guy from Vermont at Big Diamond race who travels all over for sprint racing ( he didn't mention Bahston.... ;) )

He meant to say Sprint Caah capital. Of course there was always Boston Louie Seymore.

Monday Update:
First and Foremost!! Dave's stroke was NOT related to Covid!!
Just spoke with Dave's Internal Medicine Dr, Cardiologist, and Neurologist. Dave is about the same with a little improvement. Every improvement is a success!
The good news is we are going home later today!!
He will continue with some speech therapy to help with his memory but other then that he is healthy and good to go.
All of his doctors are expecting a full recovery!! Amen!!
At this time we are very limited to visitors. Its still confusing to him with a lot of commotion and phone talk.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as they definitely helped.

Last I seen is he was driving a street car again. Still has a lot of therapy and stuff to do. He's been to the last couple races at Kokomo but not racing. Probably be there Sat.
