2009 Indiana drivers and teams

Anyone have any information on any confirmed drivers/teams? Is modern day cowboy going to run family car in 2009? T-mez with Baldwin? Weir? Stanbrough? Ballou? Trucker's team drivers? Foxco fielding a car? Stewart and Kahne teams keeping same drivers?

Small answer to a big question, but I had a brief chat with Josh Ford on Facebook today and he said he will be out here all summer. 73 car, I assume.

Thanks for the "small answer", Derek. That is good news. Josh is a nice guy and I look forward to seeing him more.

Just a guess, but I would look for guys like Hockett,Clayton and Ballou to run as much of the ASCS Lucas series as possible.

The purses are consistantly better and they have T.V..

Not to get off topic but, losing those three on a consistent basis would be a pretty big hit to the talent/excitement pool around here. Kinda makes a guy wish USAC could've drawn Lucas and some TV......

RE: 2009 Indiana Drivers & Teams...

Well, I'm not sure how much of a sign it is, but the classifieds might tell some of the story. Daron Clayton has his 2006 Beast for sale, which isn't too much of a shock.

However, in the ad it reads that trades accepted are new Maxim / J&J winged sprint car frames, new or slightly used. So, could this be the sign of Clayton going back to the winged sprint car ranks? I hope not...

I know Sweet will be back but have not heard either way about Brady

KKR is only running 1 USAC team (B. Sweet) next year but going to a 2 car team in WoO adding Craig Dollansky. Sponsorship $$$ seems to be the reason, not Brady's performance.

yes, losing those guys would be a little bit of a loss of talent at the big shows, but im the sure that indiana is full of open wheel talent ready to take their spot! it should be interesting to see all the new driver, team combinations that take place over the winter. to see which big teams scoop up the talented young drivers who are waiting on phone calls to even know if theyre gonna race this year. take for instance Scotty Weir , amazingly enough he is still waiting to find out whos car he will be defending his 2008 Kokomo Speedway Track Championship in for the 2009 racing season, should be interesting As he is a force to watch for at every track he goes to !

Have heard that Hockett will drive the Buch #13 car out of Pa. on the ASCS tour next year. This is the car that Bob Ream Jr. drove during the USAC east swing and Paul McMahan drove with a wing a few times this year. Blue Maxim frame with a yellow body, looks a lot like the Benic car.

Looking at the current prelim. ASCS schedule, there are a few big gaps between races so I'd imagine someone like DC still running some wingless races when applicable. But I'd love to see Daron run with a wing again to see how he'd do.

Heard that myself, one can kinda get that impression by reading the article that Dave Argabright has posted. Word I get is that TorqueBall will be in the Potoroff ride in 09.Just rumor I suspect though?

The PRI show is over, isn't time to start making those official announcements? Who is planning on running the Burg regularly in 2009?

So what happened to Weir's 2008 championship ride? Was it the family car?

Bob in Socal.

Did you, Jake?
I think Faas is gonna be fun to watch. I was there at Perris his first weekend in the car....he was standing on the hammer right out of the box! And he was one of the few West Coast guys to really keep up with the pack at Manzy....he's gonna be a good addition, folks!
