Nothing like seeing some great racing events at the burg. Probably a couple of Kodak moments and life time memories can and will happen at the burg. Lmao. Thanks.

Did they change promoters? The facilities are great but the track sucks. Hoping they did Dave does a good job with everything but track prep

Modifieds on Midget Week? :15:
Lawrenceburg always trying to be "special". :42::

Shame they won’t book a OVSCA or FAST winged 410’s when they don’t schedule the non wings.

Duke17 1/20/21 1:49 PM

Should also bring the Indiana Racesaver 305 Winged Sprints a couple of times!!! That would a great show!!!

sjracer26 1/20/21 2:04 PM

Lawrenceburg is situated nicely between the Indiana and Ohio Racesaver groups. A co-sanctioned race would bring a great car count and put on a good show. All while not breaking the bank!

We have a few co-sanctioned races this year at Moler and Twin Cities where we are looking to prove the viability of this type of show to the IN/OH/KY region.

Of course though, scheduling races and operating facilities and series' all have a lot of behind the scenes work that play into the conversation. I'm just hoping we all get to go racing as much as possible this year!

Lawrenceburg has held a Racesaver Sprint race before - August 29, 2015 (against the Kokomo Smackdown). Eric Smith won, only 14 cars showed up.

Now that date has been filled with our Hornet Nationals event.

Correct, however that was the first year that the RaceSavers even existed in Indiana. We have averaged 20+ cars per race for 3 years now and that is without any Ohio co-sanction races.

Either way, I can try all I want to get another race there, it is not my decision at the end of the day. I like to think there are plenty of race dates to go around for all divisions. :)

That was when the class was relatively new to the region. Look at the 305 division now. They have a good following with in the Indiana/ Ohio/ Illinois area now get a good field of them pretty much every where they go. If you don't give them a chance how will you know they would show up. Ask them on the tracks Facebook page to reply with driver name & car number to gage interest on having show. That would be a start.

Modifieds at Midget Week ! Its always been Sprints with the Midgets, thats what is so KOOL bout IMW. I said last year after IMW that I wouldn"t be back cuz of the dust, couldn"t see the cars though 3 and 4 during the heats. It did get better after he watered at half time. Looks like I"ll be having my Kodak moments at other tracks.

I was there in '17 for IMW and mods were on the card then, doesn't sound real "special" to me. Don't they have them every year for IMW?

Longtime sprinter 1/23/21 10:21 AM

One of the reasons I, and some friends, go to midget week, is because a lot of the midget drivers slide over and race a sprint also. Makes for a great night. Why on earth would the burg take the sprints out of the equation? Oh, that’s right, brings a different crowd, the mod crowd in also. We’re talking about the dollar bill.

Longtime sprinter 1/23/21 10:28 AM

I looked at their schedule, it says they are running Sprints, with midgets, guess they are just adding mods also. That’s good.

Yes, the racing divisions are on the schedule, same three divisions when I was there for IMW.

This is a good schedule. But it has been the same schedule the last 10 years. How about throwing in an All-Star show?

Me too, Jim! That wasn't one of our stellar races and the drive was a pain in the arse!!

Ya know, I"m reading people say the mods are there every year. I know I"m older and memory isn"t what it used to be, but I remember midgets running ,then sprints, but no mods. I"m talking about MIDGET WEEK ONLY. I know they run every week there. Were mods there at IMW or have I blocked them out? :17:

Re: Lawrenceburg Speedway - Lawrenceburg, Indiana. 2021 Sche

There's been mods at every Burg Midget week except 2020 when a limit was put on sprints and midgets and mods were eliminated due to covid.

They used to run the mods between the midgets and sprint features but about five years ago, after about fifteen cautions they parked the mods in the infield and pushed off the sprints.

Since then they've taken five or ten between the midget finish and pushed off the sprints. Drivers need a chance to change tearoffs or underwear.
