2020 isw

It was announced that for this years sprint week there will be no support classes and the sprint car limit is 48. :6: to USAC for getting in front of the state and being proactive.

wildman92 7/20/20 6:03 PM

We know it sucks for those support classes but yes, kudos to USAC and the tracks working with proper officials to do what they can to make this annual event possible. We are looking forward to ISW2K20 and hope to see all of our racing families! 🏁

Re: 2020 isw

This is great news! Now hopefully we don’t have to start at 6:00 and kill the track while the sun is beating on it. With one class only an efficient show can easily be run started later and not lasting til the wee hours. Always wondered why with this being Usac’s biggest week of sprint car racing it wasn’t them as stand alone anyway. *♂️

PIT CART 7/20/20 6:21 PM

This decision is the deciding factor in me going. I have to be at work at 5 am Saturday and being 80 miles from gas city I can do it🏁

dirt330 7/20/20 6:37 PM

Where did you hear this announcement? There is nothing on USAC website that I could find.

It’s been on every track’s FB page.

tqracer53 7/20/20 9:27 PM

Heard it’s only 4 people per car in pits. Not sure if have to limit stands also

Stands are supposed to be 50% but if it’s anything like midget week, they won’t be. I’ve never seen it more packed then it was. Heck I stood in line at Lawrenceburg at the concession line for 5 sprint car heats until I got to the window. I’ve never seen anything like it.

superstock30 7/21/20 5:28 AM

Going to travel the entire sprint week this year for the first time. I’ll be traveling alone, how are the after race parties? Any suggestions on good places to eat? Also motels and stuff to do between races.

The Frolic will be out in full force at every track. No better after race parties. In my opinion the best party of the year is Bloomington. Look for the Frolic flag with flashing blue light on top of flag pole or just have someone point it out to you.

Be a miracle if Bton happens this year.

LOL blue light special. I'm not sure how Gary acquired the blue light.

I also think we will see no Bloomington sprint week race. Paragon should be able to handle the 50% rule crowd.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway reduced their attendance to 25% from 50% any chance that affects Indiana dirt tracks?

If Bloomington does not allow them to race I would bet we have 2 nights at LPS. Not enough room for the motorhomes at Paragon

Paragon handled midget week fine with the campers.

Would be nice to let Brownstown or Paragon have a chance instead of two nights at one track.

Dick Monahan 7/22/20 2:22 PM

Why are the conditions for isw any different than they were for imw?

Wondering that myself. There were well over 100 cars in the pits last week at Gas City and July 3 at Kokomo.

If you want to sell tickets, tell people there is a limit!

JarrettFarms73 7/22/20 4:41 PM

HEADS UP: Indiana Governor just announced mandatory masks starting Monday 7/27. Includes outdoor activities where social distancing cannot be practiced.

Don’t shoot the messenger! just letting y’all know. personally I think it’s stupid

Got my Burg Ticket, Mainly because I don't know when I'll see another live race.
Seen two tracks close up shop until restrictions lifted today and others have already suspended for the season.

I asked about why are things different even at a higher opening level than midget week. That was a mistake. More going on than I ever imagined and we're lucky we are racing at all.

Support racing, See you there

Burg is adding a thousand seats on the back straight. This will limit if not eliminate back stretch parking. But aid in social distancing.

Griffittsmotorsports 7/23/20 7:06 AM

To be honest I hope if we can’t run Bloomington they move it to paragon would be awesome

I'm hopeful the mask mandate will be enforced and people try to social distance as best as they can. I was at Gas City last week for a local show and people were very inconsiderate to give others room. After having someone literally sit right behind me, it was time to go. If we don't take this seriously, racing will be done for the year, period. Let's be smart people and continue to enjoy what we love.

I am with you and hope their is compliance. I would like to think the race fan could show they can do this but I am less hopeful. My IMW race I attended was much like your recent race. We stopped for some curbside pickup before the race and the restaurant was all about safety masks, distance gloves wait outside etc. we get to the track walk through the gates and you would think you time warped to a land before virus. I was disappointed in my fellow fans, the track and the sanction.

My guess is the mask will be up for entry then come off only to be put back on to be served a beer or hot dog. If its what we got to do then lets do it. its a small price to pay whether its need or not. If all goes well maybe we can race later into the fall and it will help bring warmth on a cold night.

I had a similar experience June 14.
