If anyone is heading out that way,Park Jefferson and Raceway Park are literally right across the street from each other. I stopped to look at Park Jefferson one time when I was on my way to Husets after Knoxville, and Raceway Park could easily be seen off I-29. Very high banked 1/4 mile from the looks. I thought non wing sprints or midgets would be great there.

with the limited amount of people that are allowed to purchase tickets, how are they covering the purse?

Article doesn't mention what classes are racing....

Dan Nelson 4/21/20 6:29 PM

Winged 410s and IMCA Modifieds.

dshort36 4/21/20 6:38 PM

Glad to see some track owners with balls. Should have been running 2 weeks ago

TQ29m 4/21/20 6:45 PM

Actually I have been using my exhaust temp reader to CK my wife and my head temp, might as well get some good out of it.

I've been doing the same with my harbor freight temp gun. I think me and the wife might be zombies, our average temps are 92-93 degrees

motorhead748 4/21/20 9:09 PM

Brush creek in Ohio is running may 9 with essentially no fans.

TQ29m 4/21/20 10:03 PM

From what I've seen it looks like about 32*c, I've been using the f also and we run 94-96.

I'm not sure I'd want to be caught in SD with out of state plates, they might just put you in the incubator for 14 days, than what?

flagboy55 4/22/20 10:07 AM

I’ve recently heard that this was “News” to the governor. Don’t be surprised if this doesn’t get shot down. I hope not, but

Circus City Speedway in Peru is also running on May 9th with social distancing procedures in place. Don't know all the details yet but said it would be posted on their website.

Would bet a left lug nut that Indiana’s stay at home order is extended another 2 weeks to at least mid May if not longer as cases of the Kung Flu continues to rise in the state.

The more they test the more they will find. This has been around since last fall. I know it's a bad virus but now some saying not even on pace for some of the worst years flu deaths. I say open up outdoor things at least. If you don't want to go stay home. Way too much government overreach on what we can do.

I know everyone has had enough of this. Racing around here should have started 3 weeks ago. Now?

Living here in MA, we have to wear a mask in public. The stores that are allowed to be open have limits to the number of customers that can be inside. The rest stand outside 6' apart and wait their turn. Banks are drive-through only. If you need to go inside you need to make an appointment. Also being a very liberal state :21: if you go out for a walk without wearing a mask you'll get dirty looks from others. People are even ratting out their neighbors for the dumbest things. Schools closed until Sept. BUT, as much as everyone hates the PITA that it's become, we have this to think about every day;

Daily updates for MA, 190,000 Tested, 43,000 Confirmed Cases, 2,200 Deaths, 221 Deaths so far today!

We have just over 6 million in MA, with around half in the greater Boston area. I live in a hotspot due to the number of public transportation users.

I don't know what the conditions are like in everyone else's locations, but I hope it's better than here.

P.S. They just mentioned on my local news channel that the Governor of SD doesn't want the races to take place! Must be a slow news day here for that coverage to air.

I saw somewhere that nowTMZ caught wind of the S.D. race. I’m sure they know a lot about dirt track racing

Ignore the science and data and put others at risk.

Respectfully, actually no one's freedom is unlimited. I am not allowed to drive on the wrong side of the road because I can, minors are not allowed to legally drink alcohol, adults are not allowed drive and do the same. We all have limits placed upon our freedoms in order for the overall concept of liberty to work. I would paraphrase a part of your post this way. "Your freedom ends where another another person's nose begins". This per my former high school coach who was a retired Marine.

I believe Paul Harvey used to use that quote or a very similar one.

We're finding out that our freedom has never been more restricted and regulated than it is right now. Ironically the fear of dying has made many afraid of living.

Poor analogy. All those things have always been forbidden. But going to the store? Going to church? Getting together with friends? Going to a race? Ridiculous! But don't worry, you'll probably get your way. It seems nowadays insanity usually wins.

Actually originally there were no driving laws or age limitations on alcohol consumption. Like sheltering in in place they came about as a need arose. It isn't about going to a race, restaurant or whatever. It is about all of us understanding the unwritten social contract that binds us together in a time of crisis. We will agree to disagree.

flagboy55 4/24/20 8:17 AM

Actually I’m pretty sure it was Kris Kristoferson who wrote that, Janis covered it, well I might add.

Does the race track have an electrical outlet that I can plug a light into it? It would seem that is the cure to the problem? What end do you jam it into?
