CDC, No gatherings of more than 50 for 8 weeks

I expect all governors will just go along with this.
No racing till mid May.

dsc1600 3/15/20 10:04 PM

Brownstown posted this afternoon the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned Indiana Icebreaker is still on with the American Modified Series and Super Stocks. Full post is on the tracks Facebook page. Their not being driven by the media just what is official from the local, county, state, & federal government. As long as the race does happen; I plan on being there. It's been a long winter for me. I know quite a few others going as well if they race.

The recommendation was made at the 5pm press conference.

Here in the Land O' Lincoln and fat, greasy, crooked politicians they've shut down all bars, restaurants and schools. Basically all non essential human contact (whatever that consists of) outside the home.

There really is no definitive timeline. Some people that are supposed to know about these things are saying mid June is probably a more realistic time line for human gatherings of any size to be resumed. At this point no one knows so it's safe to say that hoping for the best and preparing for the worst is the prudent outlook.

Given the real possibility of the 500 being affected I'm bettin' the Hulman family is awfully glad they got the deal done when they did. No one is more equipped to weather the economic adversity of this magnitude than the buyer and present owner.

It will no doubt put a severe dent in the fun stuff a lot of people enjoy, I was around for WWII, and I sure hope it doesn't get that bad, but it could, my plan for now is to be informed and not worry about the little things, I lost an uncle on the same ship the Sullivan brothers were on, and if you don't know who they were, look it up!

Ohio has done the same. Excuse the duplicate post. I forgot to quote in my first one and it was confusing.

This is not driven by the media. This is driven by science and health issues. We are all in this together. Please take the time to educate oneself about this particular virus so that hopefully in the not so distant future ALL of us can enjoy life and all its rewards.

I predict the Indy 500 will become the LAST race in the 2020 Indycar season...(a week when the Colts play out of town)

I am aware of this article, but still, predict a September/October 500 - https://racer.com/2020/03/16/ims-rea...dy-500-intent/

Please leave the political diatribes for another site. What first attracted me to this site was it was rich in thoughtful discussions about racing and not a place where posts were peppered with unnecessary accusations and derogatory labels. There are other venues for such things, but not here. Civility is a positive thing.
