I asked and it is being called Boswell. It's what I've called the track since the early 70s.

Didn't get to go to that race, but remember they said the track was a little rougher than they were used to with those cars. I saw several races there while it was pavement. a guy I had raced with at Putnamville ran a modified there.

Avon Open Wheel fan 8/13/19 8:05 PM

I attended the Indy race was really a decent race there. They also had Modifieds at that race. Seemed like maybe Kenny St John was the promoter of the track towards the end of its pavement years. I started going there in the early to mid 70s.

Ran our modified there the day of the American Indy Car Race. The Indy Cars ran better than I anticipated on a short 3/8 mile track. I really like the track when it was paved. It was really fast and seemed like it had 5 or 6 turns.
Ran a couple races with our dirt modified after they switched to dirt. The only problem with the track was its in the middle of nowhere and not easy to get to.

I was there.
Also remember a USAC midget race, where someone (Jay Brosius?) landed in the bottom rows of the bleachers.

I was there during Indiana Sprint Week when Kevin Studley had a huge crash during qualifying and sent some parts flying over the fence into the turn one area. I don't believe there were injuries, but it was scary.

Announcement #3 just posted. Below is today's announcement #3.

Possible Classes Confirmed! - Our regular nightly divisions will be...…. Pro Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Factory Stocks "Thunder Cars", and Sport Compacts! Sprints and Super Late Models will also have 3 special events each. Street Stocks will run a few shows as well as Pro Modifieds. And yes Street Stocks will also have a $3,000 to win special.

Side Note - If a deal is done and we get new clay down before winter hits, we will be running a 28 night schedule. This schedule will be mainly Saturday nights while working with other tracks in the area. We will also be running some Thursday, Friday, and Sunday night specials. We will only take your 12 best finishes to factor into the $1,500 to win points championship. This will keep the points chases closer as well as make it more exciting for the fans. We hope that by only taking 12 finishes it doesn't hurt those who can't make certain nights due to work or other obligations.

-> Stay tuned for announcement #4 tomorrow! <- Each day we will have one class or event announcement, and then a side note with additional speedway related information.
