One Wish

Alright, the racing genie grants you one wish to help improve sprint car racing. The only exclusion is it can’t start with “I win the lottery”. What’s your wish?
I wish we had lots more rich people who wanted to have a hobby of owning sprint cars and hired deserving drivers. I think this would trickle down to make everything better

I wish someone would invent a cheap product that kept the dust down that wasn't harmful.

I wish every thing wasn't so expensive so low budget teams could be more competitive.

My wish is for no rain on race days.

That everyone would just get along and things would be much better for everyone.

mc/rider 7/14/19 10:00 AM

Less tire (skinnier)

That someone would take the wings off Racesavers and run it as their primary class.

Laugh all you want, Only way SPRINT car racing is going to grow.

I wish a track in the land of Lincoln would run sprint cars weekly, pay a 1000 or 1200 weekly if there are more than 20 pay more. Open motor rule, run what you brung. Wing cars one week non wing cars the next. I bet a lot of guys would be there every week. Just race every week and have fun.

I wish the rules gods could agree on affordable pavement rules and USAC could once again have a combined dirt / pavement series champion.

Z-man 7/14/19 11:59 AM

That craft breweries and distillers would take an unhealthy interest in sprint car racing a start sponsoring some big races. For that matter with the legalization of marijuana in many states some growers and dispensaries. Great way to promote a startup business

It is already available. The product is called calcium chloride,It comes from the earth naturally. The nature Nazi's will not allow dirt tracks to apply this to their surface. Next thing will be no table salt nation wide!:10:

that drivers cared more about the owners, and didn't give those half ass sliders.

Re: One Wish

First oil, as I recall, the gravel roads were even getting treatments of that, then calcium chloride, but we were told it made the horses hooves soft, so that went away, then came liquid soap, I'd hate to say how many gallons of that I put down, then all of a sudden it was gone, too expensive so we were told. I have a hard time believing any of it, but looks like water is it, and if it's coming from a nearby creek, it's got more dust in it than the track had to start with!

Therealether 7/14/19 7:47 PM

I would take Flo, Speed Shift, Dirtvision, speed 51 and combine them all into 1 damn service so I can watch it all

My wish is that race associations would go a harder RR tire instead of these ugly skinny tires, all they do is burn up & add cost to the teams:31: Like a Champ car RR tire w/ no grooving allowed, it'll take away the high HP engines & we'll see who can drive over those who can stab & steer:6::8:

I know it’s winged racing , but the ASCS just went to the Silver Crown tire

Re: One Wish

More fans from every generation. This should (I emphasize should, not would) result in more money for promoters, resulting in improvements to tracks, higher purses resulting in more car owners getting back into racing, bigger fields, more competition, and a host of other things.

It seemed like in the time frame of 1969 to about 1974, maybe a little later, engines were 305's to 350's? Tires were how wide then? Seems that time period was really competitive. I think race tracks would hold up better with narrower tires especially the bullrings. Just my opinion.

That USAC had a national TV contract so we could see some races on TV.

You've never had to follow modifieds then, all that hp and skinny tires, does not a good racetrack make.

I wish someone would develop a safe, effective retaining wall/catch fence system, that every track operator could afford.
