I dropped by last Saturday, They have completed a ton of work in the last two months. Walls about half the wall up with fence polls. Small grandstand erected out of four, More grandstands waiting assembly. Needs lights Track lights some food trucks and restrooms. But seven weeks is possible.

A sprint car race on my birthday (11/9) would be SPECTACULAR! And only 10 minutes from home? I can only dream.

Your Bday is the day after mine. Not sure why they're scheduling sundays in Oct and Nov when hardly anyone is running but it still works.

I will say this, with four tracks within 50 miles of each other. If they don't work together, they'll all fail. Florence kinda does it's own thing but they hurt some nights themselves.

Give the guys two races back to back twice a month, Maybe make a Border wars series out of it with a point fund, IDK.

Construction pushed us back slightly. Planning on running September 12th first opening and Sept 19th with test and tune Thursday Nigh Lights, live music, and more events to come. Come race your buddy around the track and let someone new experience what it feels like to be a dirt car driver. Grand opening pushed to Sept 22nd with a full show that potentially includes sprints. Keep checking back for updates. Looking out for our racers. Want to ensure the track is fully up to par before we open to full scheduling. Township filed another injunction on track, all work has stopped.

Injunction for?

If those that are fighting this track would just let it happen I suspect it'd be gone on its own in time.

Honestly, I agree with this: If at least two tracks don't get together and make arrangements either alternate weekends or some sort of combined championship $$$ FOUR DIRT TRACKS won't survive within 50mi of each other. Seven if you extend that a bit to include North Vernon, Atomic and Brush Creek.

Attica and Fremont have survived by working together amidst a half a dozen other dirt tracks trying to do their own thing

Really, the only two classes you could almost guarantee getting full fields of is Econo Mods and Hornets without some agreement or incentive your just diluting already shrinking fields of sprints and LMS.

That's a real shame considering that they won a ballot initiative in the general ********. Its almost like harassment from a local government, but that never happens, right? Who cares what the people actually voted for.

i hope they get it resolved. as i’ve saiid in earlier posts, i’d like to have some evening options when coming over to bowl the Hoinke. i’m not big on casino’s so this would work out well. Sprint cars on the bill would just be gravy on top.

Edgewater dirt track is being dug up and removed. At least turns three and four of it.

Got some phone pics from uncle but hard to tell, I'll take his word for it till saturday. This track never had a chance. Was built almost to the point of raceable. Walls, fences, lights hung. Graded it could have been hot lapped. Local pressure nixed it, But made little sense with about six other dirt tracks within a hundred miles, Many who can't draw full fields of top division. They owned late models, wanted their own track I guess.

The days of building a new racetrack are gone, just too many people against anything like a racetrack. Back in the day like in the fifties and sixties you could build anything you wanted to build without anyone ********. These people might as well save their money anyway as too many racetracks in one area will not work. Also, the noise and dust can't be allowed anywhere. The Marion County fairgrounds track in Indy is just on borrowed time as the people near there are ******** about the noise. Think not, just look at the dirt track near Phoenix and another near El Paso, they were new dirt tracks and they are in the process of being closed. I can remember racetracks right in town like Phoenix, I've raced there but it's a junk yard now. Any racetrack that is near where lots of people live could be gone in a few years. Take a case like Owen County Indiana has, the land is zoned farmland, someone bought a few acres there to build a wedding chapel and someone bitched. But they could build a hog farm instead. I'm 83 years old and have seen it all, the USA is full of crazies and inbreeds and will only get worse as time goes on. The worst thing that has happened in the last 200 years was the South loosing the Civil War.
