Can't find an entry list anywhere. It must small. I heard 16 at Winchester Facebook.

This is exactly what I feared would happen small car count back in winter when this was first talked why there was going to at least 30 some teams putting cars together for this race I don't know what happened just wishful thinking I guess

Re: Winchester today

Not sure why everyone is so focused on car count. The last race at Kalamazoo was spectacular. multiple battles for the lead, three wide in traffic, photo finish ! ! ! :22: :22::22: isn't THAT why we go to the races ? ? anyone that thinks 30 non-wing sprint cars are going to show up at Winchester Speedway and race is clearly not in tune :44:

When USAc ran there they at the very least 22-24 cars why is they 40 some cars for little 500 only 16 at Winchester? $20 is a little salty for no more cars than that there's more asphalt cars out there for $8 grand to w IU n should at least been 28 cars

Re: Winchester today

It's better than its been in years. Just happy someone is trying to get it going again. Maybe a couple of
years from now good pavement and not car counts will be all that matters

wbr 6/23/19 11:44 AM

Re: Winchester today

There will be 20+ cars. No stock cars and only 1 support class. $20 is a bargain for that and then include Winchester (priceless):22:

Re: Winchester today

i clearly remember the USAC shows from the early 90's. Sunday afternoon, Sprints and Midgets. the racing was beyond Epic. i don't remember the car count. The racing was always the topic of conversation.

sprintracer82 6/23/19 12:28 PM

Considering you have two cars out with drivers laid up with recoveries from severe injuries, another car with engine issues,a team car to one of those cars with not enough help, and another team with trailer issues I think this is a good start. The question remains is how many fans sit at home and how many sit in the stands? It's a lot easier to sit around a b!tch about it than to support it. Last weekend at Kalamazoo there was some of the best open wheel racing ever there. It was so good that stockcar teams were breaking down what makes nonwing racing so good.
Just my two cents.

I am down with an illness and can't make any races today. Wish I was there. I really don't want to see a high 20's car count at Winchester.

Thank you the drivers list and times appreciate it very much

hoosierboy3 6/23/19 1:35 PM

Kyle O’Gara wins first heat over Cottle and Armstrong.

Aaron Pierce wins second heat over a hard charging Jacob Wilson. Beautiful day here at the high banks, should be a good feature. Huge amount of vintage cars on track now!

Non wing lover 6/23/19 1:47 PM

How's the crowd today?

hoosierboy3 6/23/19 2:24 PM

Caleb Armstrong wins by over a straight away from 8th with a set of steel balls underneath him! Great crowd here today as well

Adolph 6/23/19 2:25 PM

Caleb Armstrong wins over Wilson, Santos, Pierce.and Cottle.

Non wing lover 6/23/19 2:41 PM

Great day at Winchester.A trip down memory lane for me and my son who I first took there as a toddler. Drive through the countryside, watching hot laps from the infield, fast, safe racing, home for dinner! Let’s do this more often!!
A constructive question: what needs to happen to get a fuller field? ie four heats, a consy and feature? Or am I just fantasizing?

sprintracer82 6/23/19 7:25 PM

Five cars were missing do to engine failure or major crashes. They are not far off from having good size fields. The core Anderson group of cars won't get off the porch and travel outside of Anderson.

FrankR63 6/23/19 7:29 PM

20 bucks in 2019 is nothing. 20 bucks a head, look at the crowd, no one is getting rich. You want this option moving forward, go, pay the 20 and be glad for the opportunity. Cannot believe this is not evident, salty, give me a break.

Re: Winchester today

Enjoyed seeing the non wing sprints that have been gone for to long. My daughter brother and niece all had a good time much better than staying at home. hopefully this is the start of something good for years to come

red 12 6/23/19 7:50 PM

I feel I more than got my 20 bucks worth. The history and just getting to see Sprints back on Winchester. My Son , Daughter in law and one of my grand daughters . Nice day.

Re: Winchester today

FrankR, I'm with you. Can't believe someone would say $20 to see sprint car racing at Winchester "is a little salty". Obviously the great crowd was happy to pay the $20. And better yet, if you were a HARF member, you got in for half price, $10! How else were they going to pay the great purse they put up today. Very cool that all the lap sponsorships were sold out, too.

Thanks Winchester Speedway, teams and drivers for a great day of racing! And for moving the program along to beat the rain. Let's do it again next year!

#1jackhewittfan 6/23/19 9:02 PM

I enjoyed it really good tight racing early in the feature well worth my $20

hoosierboy3 6/23/19 9:23 PM

I would also like to see more cars but it was still a stout field nonetheless. Heck, we even got a free golf cart ride from our car to the gate. But I would love to see guys like Welpott, Mccune, Donnie Adams, and the other guys that have a pavement sprinter. What stuck out to me was that Brian Gerster was not in attendance. His sponsor is from Winchester I believe

gtownplowboy 6/23/19 9:50 PM

20 dollars is and was a bargain to see the sprint cars back on the high banks.you have to start somewhere with a series.great race, it was an experience that I hadn't had for a long time.did you go? If not you missed an experience.how they come back and bring 25 cars the next time..peace

All of you can be upset with the car count all you want but don’t take it out on the Winchester guys. They put up major money for teams to come out. They would’ve had more cars but teams had issues.

Bloom- not sure what happen to him?
Travis Welpott - Tore his car up Thursday
Baden Stewart had engine issues testing at Salem Friday
Jerry Powell had one car instead of two because someone bought the 59
Tom Patterson- would’ve been there if he could

sprintracer82 6/24/19 8:10 AM

Talking with Linda yesterday Jeff went to start the hauler and it would start. After working on fixing it they just ran out of time.

Just so happy to be there yesterday and see the sprints rocket around the high banks again. A really fast clean show with battles all over the place. Thumbs up to the promoters.

Adolph 6/24/19 12:31 PM

Get a HARF or DARF membership and it was only $10. Plenty of fans were at Winchester and racing was good. Feature ran 40 laps all green in 10 minutes and 36 seconds. Was out of there at 2:30 PM leaving plenty of time to get to Kokomo which ironically had the most paltry crowd in years even though track and temperature were near perfect. It was a great double header except for Robert Ballou getting hurt.
