We're headed south Tuesday morn. All three nights at Bubba's in Ocala for the All Stars and then over to Volusia for they and the WoO.

Anyone else headed down I-65 or I-75 this week?

If you see me, give me a wave. I am easy to spot - purple hat. Or just PM me on here for lunch.

A lot people will be, for the Super Bowl, too!

Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise and/or we don’t freeze to death, we’ll be heading for Volusia for the WoO sprint races and then to BRP for the USAC sprints.

Pat and I are in Florida already and heading to East Bay on Thursday for Top Gun Sprints, Friday and Saturday at Bubba for All-Stars and, USAC midgets at Bubba and USAC sprints at Bubba. Also SSSS sprints at New Smyrna and one of sprint shows at Volusia.

Ocala weather this weekend (High / Low):

Thursday: 63°F / 45°F Cloudy
Friday: 69°F / 52°F Cloudy
Saturday: 73°F / 55°F Showers possible

The next weekend is too far out to measure.

Our racing family's can't make it till the sprint cars racing events. Have fun and enjoy all the great things that we all love. Looking forward to seeing you guys and gals in Florida. Be safe in the your racing road trip. Thanks.

yesterday it was "RAINY" "COLD" "BITTER" ...thought I was in Indiana....today shorts,tee shirt, flip flops...not a cloud in the sky with 74 the high

Heading down next Friday will make Saturday at bubbas for midgets then Sunday for lucas oil at bubbas then 3 days in daytona then back to bubbas for sprintcars

We are leaving next Thursday to watch the midgets, then take in a few days at the beach, then back for sprints. Looking forward to my first visit to Bubba’s and we are both looking forward to escaping the cold Indiana weather. We don’t care if it’s only in the 50s or 60s in FL. That’ll be a heck of a lot warmer than it is here!!!

Flying to St Pete on the 6th. Not sure if I'm going to Bubba or Volusia. Bubba is about an hour closer to grandma's and I never get to see midgets up here, so I'm leaning that way. But the chance to maybe shake Mike's hand might tip the scales to Volusia. Either way, it's going to be 50 below zero here tomorrow so I'd be happy watching blue haired ladies race amigos through a Publix right now.

Southern Shootout Sprints at New Smyrna are wicked fas, and hella loud. Easily the headliner event.

Only hitting the last night for USAC sprints at Ocala. Going to visit my Grandkids in Georgia the first weekend. Staying in Daytona on Monday and Tuesday. Going to visit my Mom in Ft Myers, then heading up to Ocala on the way home. Have been to Florida like 8 years in a row for USAC and haven't made it to my Mom's since the old TNT series was at East Bay. Figured I should reprioritize. Plus getting tired of hearing from my wife that she has never been there. She does have a point.

Made a trip back to Indiana to get the push truck between snow storms. I'll be pushing 10 nights in the next three weeks at Bubba's Raceway Park in Ocala. Starting off with the All Star Sprints, followed by the USAC Midgets and USCS 360 Sprints, then topping it off with the USAC Sprints. (Oh yeah... then a 12 night Caribbean Cruise... woohoo!)

How about a a Big Thank You to Bubba and all of the Florida Speedways for offering a complete schedule of races for us snow bird race fans. I've been going since 87, seems to get better every year.

Me, the wife, and Squeak the Cat made it to LaQuinta in Ocala last night. I have it made. Waffle House is a fine minute walk.

In addition to the drag racing displays and memorabilia the Garlits museum contains a very nice collection of classic cars and '60's & 70's American muscle cars. The Garlits museum is well worth the time, effort and money to see. Make sure you have a couple of hours to insure of seeing everything there is to see.

I can do that for you. In fact, I will be doing that in about 10 minutes. We just made it to Deland, where we will be for the Volusia rounds. Left Daytona Beach this morning. As we were cleaning out the room there was one 16 oz. can of beer in the fridge. I wasn't going to take it with me. Earlier in the morn I saw a pickup truck in the lot with Michigan plates and a SOD sticker in the rear window. A little later some guy noticed I had on a Crystal Motor Speedway shirt and we started talking. It was his truck. His name was Don and he was from the Grand Rapids area and had worked with Robert Huisken and Greg Wheeler over the years.

Anyways, I saw him poolside as we were heading out and gave him the beer. He thanked me. I didn't even know if he drank, and besides, it was 11:00 a.m.

As I turned to walk away I heard him pop the top.

Now THAT'S a race fan on vacation! :6:

Supposed to fly out at 9am. Ice storm supposed to be here 1am. To better my chances, I came to GR tonight and am staying next to the airport. Hope to see some of you somewhere in Florida at a race track. Especially Don.

We're heading south to Ocala/BRP in the morning for the USAC Midgets Friday & Saturday, then a few vacation days for us, back to Ocala/BRP Wednesday thru Saturday for the Amsoil National Sprint Cars.
We'll be having some meet & greets with our racing friends, safe travels to all!

Headed to BRP Friday/Sat for USAC Midgets and USCS sprints, staying the week in Orlando for a conference, then back for USAC sprints!

Been here for a month. We both suffered thru the annual Florida Flu and chilly January/ early February weather. Even forced myself to go wing racin' last week. Now I'm ready for some USAC Midgets and Sprints!!!

In clevland last weekend too cold for me😀I’ll be heading north to Ocala in the morning.
