New in Kokomo, how's the racin

Just moved here from OH and was wondering how the racing is?
What's the typical schedule like? I've heard the facilities have gone downhill over the years. Is there any real fan support left because I've always heard back in the day Kokomo was IT, but now it's not like the good ol days anymore.

Any opinions?

That little compass in your head. You know, the one that leads you to where you ultimately end up? I'm guessing by the end of next racing season, you'll be thinking that your's is working pretty good.:O:

If your talking about Kokomo Speedway you will not be disappointed! It has some of the best racing in Indiana if not the best. Facility has had many upgrades in the last few years, reconfigured track, new fence, great lighting to name a few. You will find the best drivers racing there on any given sunday. I believe they start late April or early May thru part of Sept. and in Oct. The Klash.

Only problem I've ever found with Kokomo is that it's in Kokomo. Gets this old timer home at around 3 AM :O: Otherwise, it's a great facility with great racing. I do believe they have the best PA too.

You've heard wrong. Go to Kokomo Speedway in 2009 and see for yourself. :checkered:

Be sure to hit some of the races at Haubstadt. You won't be disappointed.

actually i think you would be hard pressed to find a racetrack in Indiana you dont like , that runs a weekly show, but you are in the best part of the state for weekly open wheel action, Gas city, kokomo, lawrenceburg are all well within driving distances and all have excellent shows all the time

Uh dude, Kokomo rocks. Don't mind the lidless cars and enjoy!

Chuck, saying the state of Gas City on the other hand is questionable.

Consider yourself extremely lucky. I drive 240 miles one way to go to Kokomo. Perhaps the best weekly track in America. Great drivers, nice people (both fans and race track employees), great 4th of July fireworks, a track which week after week allows charges from back in the pack, Kokomo has it all.

I made my first trip to Kokomo this summer for Sprintweek and i will be back for sure! :thumb The only thing i wish they could do is eliminate the crowding under the grandstand. To have the BEER stand, the bathrooms, the souvenir stand all under the grandstand it gets crowded. I do like the wrist band idea instead of messing with tickets or pass outs, if you need to get something out of your vehicle it's much easier getting back in with the wrist band. Can't wait to get back to Kokomo in 2009!:applaud:
