Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
Ok, I have to eat some crow here about my Swindell remark :14:. He had a great 3 race ASCoC week finishing
Angell Park 10th Jackson 6th and Knoxville 2nd These were definitely not cherry picked races and he proved he can still wheel a car around with the best. Gotta give credit where credit is due. |
Sammy is amazing.

Sammy is intelligent = good results.

Re: Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
I've seen Sammy win 3 times in the past 2 years, twice with Allstars in upstate NY & once with ASCS 360s in Colorado. All were pretty dull races in NON sprint car Meccas, & he was the main attraction for me (plus short drives!)
Just shows that a Hall of Famer past his prime can beat weekend warriors.... but i like to see the old farts do well:6: Now if he does well at Knoxville, it will be AWESOME!:23: |
Re: Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
56 car field at Knoxville last night. Sammy qualified 4th out of all those entries. I did not realize it was an All Star Circuit race. Tony was even at Knoxville last night. Check out the results of the A-Main and where they started and who led laps. Must have been a heck of a feature.
A main (started), 25 Laps, NT: 1. Kerry Madsen (13); 2. Sammy Swindell (7); 3. Chad Kemenah (8); 4. Brian Brown (5); 5. Brooke Tatnell (4); 6. Spencer Bayston (9); 7. Dominic Scelzi (23); 8. Aaron Reutzel (18); 9. Cory Eliason (19); 10. Paul McMahan (10); 11. Tim Kaeding (20); 12. Austin McCarl (16); 13. Joey Saldana (22); 14. Lynton Jeffrey (3); 15. Parker Price-Miller (14); 16. Carson Macedo (6); 17. Tasker Phillips (17); 18. Wayne Johnson (12); 19. Ryan Robinson (24); 20. Sam Hafertepe Jr. (11); 21. Terry McCarl (2); 22. Matt Juhl (1); 23. Dave Blaney (26); 24. Jac Haudenschild (25); 25. Trey Starks (15); 26. Gio Scelzi (21). Lap Leaders: Juhl 1-11, T. McCarl 12-14, S. Swindell 15-19, K. Madsen 20-25. Hard-charger: D. Scelzi. |

Wow. The bullet and the child sucking hind t**t. I remember the days they would both likely be in the top 10 of any given race. Ocaisionally getting old sucks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
Just added a 410 win at 34 raceway tonight with the all stars have to say the last of the big three still winning
|
And Sam won tonight at 34 raceway! Non of those guys are done! Jac is still in the top 5 or 6 in allstar points! Check this out. Dave wins at Haubstadt, Danny Smith wins at Atomic, Sammy wins at 34, Dewease wins at port royal, all we need is Brent Kaeding to win in Cali and the old guys rule the sprint car nation!:32:

Double file restarts sometimes provide a false picture.

Re: Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
How about the roster of talent the All Stars are bringing to the race track? a few years back this group was all but history . . . . . Thanks again Tony :9::9::9:
Sammy makes any race more interesting :44: |
Not an argument. This is a gimmick which has made it into racing. So if a car starts 14th in a single file restarts they have 13 cars to pass. Starting 14th in a double file you could have as few as 7 cars to pass. Sprint car racing is pure; no fuel stops, no double file restarts, no lucky dog, etc.

Think you need to rethink this. Think about heat races where a car in row 3 often gets the lead by quickly passing 2-3 cars. Lastly, what motivation other than getting more cars closer to the front would there be for a double file restarts. Ask NASCAR and WoO.

Re: Eating Crow for Sammy Swindell
I believe talent level excels in double file restarts...its like the original start with the cars grouped more 2gther at RACE speed, than any invert of luck of the draw situations that may occur at the 1st green...
