Lawrenceburg

I will be on my way till they tell me not to but would be nice to know now if Monday will be used for the burg if tomorrow doesn’t pan out.

Re: Lawrenceburg

Honestly, I couldn't tell you.

ronmil 7/21/18 1:55 PM

Re: Lawrenceburg

I had planned to attend but it looks like heavy rain is on its way and the forecast for tomorrow isn't much better. It is simply too far to drive for such an unsure situation. Here in Evansville, we could use a little more rain.

david mitchell 7/21/18 2:32 PM

Hopefully.Lawrenceburg will take Monday if offered.Everyone will be there .24 hrs later.Mon thru Sat.That’s a sprintweek.😹

IndianaSprintFan 7/21/18 6:46 PM

Anyone live in the area have updates on rain totals.

flagboy55 7/22/18 3:01 AM

I would think that there’s a reason that they’re not running Kokomo Monday.

It does look better. I am going to go until they tell me to stay home

ronmil 7/22/18 9:10 AM

Forecast has improved a lot, but with a seven hour round trip it is still a big gamble. The three of us that were coming have decided to take a pass on this one, which means it will probably be a beautiful day with an epic race!

DHayes818 7/22/18 9:21 AM

I live 14 miles south of the track. 5 inches since Friday. Huge storm at the track Friday afternoon. But it was extremely dry before these storms.

Nate 7/22/18 9:21 AM

The forecast has gotten better but not going to head over real early like I normally would.

Not sure what the current track conditions are either and what it could handle if it does rain. The area has eaten a lot of rain the last two days.

david mitchell 7/22/18 9:28 AM

Postpone until tomorrow.Much better forecast. This weather is a crowd killer.Give yourself the best opportunity for good crowd.

Charles Nungester 7/22/18 9:28 AM

Re: Lawrenceburg

Im not going to say what will happen. I do see a long dry spell this morning. Looks like the front is moving further north and west,

Im 35 miles East. While we've gotten several showers the ground was so dry here it's not over saturated. That being said, I got no idea what track conditions are, The ground Im talking about has grass on it.

wildman92 7/22/18 9:45 AM

This was just posted on the Burg’s Facebook page

It's Race Day!! We are in "get er done" mode! Our amazing track crew has been on-site 6:00am and would like us all to pray for some 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞!! Hope to see you all tonight for USAC Indiana Sprint Week!
As always, our plan is to race unless otherwise noted 😊

Charles Nungester 7/22/18 9:49 AM

Re: Lawrenceburg

That being said, I may not make it. seriously considerng going back to emergency room over a condition I went in for last monday

david mitchell 7/22/18 10:02 AM

Thoughts with you Charles.Hopefully, you will be well for Kokomo.

Re: Lawrenceburg

Today

A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Good luck on the weather. I'm pretty lucky, I live only 13 miles east of the track on the west side of Cincy.:31::27:

IndianaSprintFan 7/22/18 10:16 AM

Weather.com has nothing more than 55% on hourly all day drops to 15% after race time. I’ll be on my way at 2

cowboyhar69 7/22/18 2:03 PM

Per Facebook Lawrenceburg is running

FishBurger 7/22/18 2:29 PM

Re: Lawrenceburg

I live 1.3 miles by Sierra from the track. Maybe .5 miles as the buzzard flies. Sun is shining through very cloudy skies at 2:30...…..that may be the key. It's ONLY 2:30. Hang tough......I'm betting they get it in.

ronmil 7/22/18 2:45 PM

Re: Lawrenceburg

Hope they get a decent crowd. I would have come, but I live nearly four hours away.

Facebook page updates.

https://radar.weather.gov/Conus/centgrtlakes_loop.php The rain is missing the Burg, it is swirling around miles away from the track. Check the lick.

made that trek many times on a sunday night coming from tri state when gilstrap drove for us. Never made it home awake. (18 MILES EAST OF THE BURG)

Gregg 7/22/18 5:11 PM

Counted 40 sprinters. The announcer says 38 either way I am happy with it.

Still partly cloudy. Hope it holds.

It's a good thing whomever you were talking to didn't listen. If you were in charge of Sprint Week we would have missed out on 2 great races with good crowds. Do you even attend any races or do you just sit on IOW and try to discourage the promoters and fans? David Big Game Hunter you are a sad little man.

I would bet just in the 70s alone he's seen more racing than you have in your hole life.

In my "hole" life. What does that mean? I would take that bet and win. If he's been around so much racing why does he make so many stupid comments?

wright59 7/22/18 11:20 PM

Agreed!

smith19 7/22/18 11:31 PM

I do know david comes from a part of the country where they race darn near every nite...and yes he's been to the burg. very nice man.

I came 4 1/2 hours and the feature was worth every minute of it.

Rone9r 7/22/18 11:39 PM

I get on IOW for results and highlights for races I just cannot attend. All I seem to find on here is a bunch of bashing of the sport, ******** about the track conditions, or this promoter did this or that. 11:38pm and not a damn thing on here about updates.

He's a swell guy. I go to the Burg and pay my $25 and he's sitting at home hoping for rain.

Re: Lawrenceburg

Im not going to say one cross word on David ever again, provded he don't pick on friend of mine.

He wished me well when going to the ER today on a condition I've been fighting for a month.
First thought it was a pulled tendon behind knee.
Week later getting swelling in thigh, Think it's a infection of some type. Go to ER, Doctor says infection prescribes anti biotics.
Week later several swollen welts on thigh, whole calf, knew and ankle turn sun burnt red. Off to the ER. Not sprint week. DR looks at it, Orders a port in my arm and tells me likely admitted. Runs 400 viles worth of blood work Two hour later says no infection,, Lets do ultra sound and check for clots.
BINGO. All superficial veins Precribes asprin and some pain killers.
Releases me at 330on, 430pm Im at THE BURG.

Watching racing under a mostly sunny sky and great friends.
LIFE IS GOOD!

Thanks. Had a great time at a race track instead of being laid up in a hospital bed for a couple days if not more. :) Never mind the weatherman who said NOT A CHANCE!

I badly wanted to go, but upper management (the wife) told me I had to work on the house. Lol. Got quite a bit done on a big project while watching speed shift in the background so it was a good night all in all.
