Anderson Sprints - lets show some support Thursday!

The track, drivers and teams have stepped up to support the upcoming Thursday night non-wing sprint show at Anderson. The entry list is solid with 23 drivers with several former Little 500 and USAC champions. The track has posted a decent purse as well.

As fans, we also need to support the Thursday night races if we want this to continue. If this works this year, we could see additional races next year at Winchester, IRP and Salem. Maybe even bring back the USAC pavement sprint series...... the local wing series (Auto Value & Must See) are slowing dying and now would be a great time to bring back this series. Would be cool to see USAC Sprints and Silver Crown run together on the high banks.

Bring a friend, bring a neighbor or family..... hope to see a decent crowd on Thursday night!

Current entry list;

Just got home from the fireworks, now hoping the R word stays away tomorrow. If so, I will definitely be on the backstretch watching them gas it up out of turn 2! Thanks Anderson Speedway for trying to bring back the thunder

Any word on the weather for tonight ?? Thinking about jumping in the truck and making the 3 hr. drive down from Michigan. Will leave GR by 2:00

40% chance in Anderson around 4 pm. No one can predict the weather but it’s definitely an improvement from 80-90% like it has been all week.

Racing is still on as scheduled and are going to wait out the rain.

I am on my way from Illinois driving in the rain sometime so hard I can hardly see the road !

Update
I’m turning around.
This is too risky & expensive.
As bad as I wanna see this, it’s just not in the cards for me today.

Results of 75 lap feature (19 cars):
1, Aaron Pierce, 2. Chris Neuenschwander, 3. Kody Swanson, 4. Bobby Santos III, 5. Jerry Coons, 6. Tyler Roahrig, 7. Justin Grant, 8. Shane Cottle, 9. Kyle O'Gara, 10. Tony Main.
Top 8 remained on lead lap. Place 9 and 10 were 1 lap down. The remaining 9 cars were 2 or more laps down. Shane Cottle was about to get lapped. There was only one short yellow on lap 39. Aaron Pierce lead every lap and was never challenged. He won by 1.4 seconds. Of the top 6 cars which had broken away, there was only one pass between them, when Swanson passed Santos. The race lasted 19 minutes and 19 seconds. It was fast tight quarter racing where passing was difficult among leaders.
Dameron Taylor won 8 car Kenyon Midget feature of 40 laps.
Going back for next Thursday Night race at Anderson on 8/5. It cost me only $8 with HARF card.
