Hats off to Eldora!

Gotta give it to em, Eldora sure puts on well run, flashy show, with the fireworks, flame blast, and all. The service trucks, (all 4 are new fords) were right on it when needed, show was run efficiently, no down time between races, got out at a reasonable time after 11 great races. The half empty guys will say it was dusty, but they could have spent 30-45 mins watering and running in, and it would still have been dusty after a couple laps. I appreciate running it, eat a little dust, get home reasonable time. Track seemed to be good, they were running within tenths of the track record, so Eldora crew, my hats off to you!

Perfect night of racing :44: $33 for a pit pass. The 2 best sprint car groups :31: It was fabulous :32:

I agree with everyone. They ran the show off as quick as possible. I was back home in Indy at 12:35am. Dust was not bad at all. It was a challenge for the sprinters to get grip on the track, as it was smooth as silk. Lotta high dollar machinery in the pits last night.

For only $28 general admission, $33 for the pits, that was a great value! Thank you Eldora for this awesome double header!

Of course i have to ask of those who attended, which had the better feature, the Outlaws or USAC? From the highlights I watched it might have been the the wings, but I wasn't there. As some of you know I prefer without, but wing racing is getting better all the time, at least that's what I'm seeing.

Both features were great. Brady started 8th and marched to the front passing ALL the top USAC drivers. Seeing the Wild Child lead an Outlaw feature at Eldora again was special. A-Aron Reutzel was spectacular going from 3rd to 1st in one move. Doesn't get much better :22:

Apparently I was at a different race.

I am a USAC Guy all the way, but the Outlaws put on a hellava show. Their financial backing just puts them in a different stratosphere. I thought the non wings was more competitive though, more equality back thru the pack.

I just watched the video of Friday night's show. I think I heard the announcer say that the track has been reconfigured. Is that true? What have they done?

I was there both nites and saw good racing whenever cars were on the track.

I was there both nights and Friday night sucked but Saturday night they redeemed themselves and put on an awesome show and it was done before the sun was even down. Schatz won the WoO both nights but Saturday Schuhart was right there if Donny would have made just even a little mistake but he didn't. The USAC feature Windom was leading the whole time but 2 thru 6th were battling and Sunshine was gaining on Windom but couldn't catch him. Overall for the price and just the shear fun you can have and I did for sure the Let's do Two weekend is hard to beat.

I don't know what race you were at Friday but I saw good racing both nights at Eldora. I will give you that the USAC Heats Friday much more resembled winged car heat races, but the feature made up for that. Then Saturday was great not good racing in USAC.
Both WoO features were entertaining with Friday being their better race.

They haven't done anything over the winter as far as re-configuring the track. It was slightly re-configured in 2014, took at little of the lip off the top to even the lanes out some.

What they did do over the winter was plant winter wheat on the track. Apparently that helped get the PH level back where it needed to be so maybe it won't dust up as much now. (Place will still make some dust though; but last few years it's been VERY bad.) This info from the Open Red Podcast with Roger Slack, if I understood him correctly.

-To me it seemed the track held together much better than it had in last few years.

I enjoyed both nights, but I thought Friday was a little better. Thought the track was as good as I have ever seen.

I was referencing the fact that the USAC track record, held by Jerry Coons Jr., dates back to (2006) before the track was “reconfigured” and some of the banking was removed.
