I was at Gas City, but it looks like Seavy had a heck of a run. Congrats to DD

Glad to see The People’s Champ pick up the win. Overall the feature had the feel of a regular show at Bloomington. |
Jordan Kinser used home track advantage to finish 13th.
Stevie Sussex’s night went sour after qualifying 8th in Burton 04 he took 5th in heat race, 6th in B-Main and raced backwards from 9th to 21st. On the opposite side of the Ledger Logan Seavey in the Briscoe 5B qualified 16th and took 6th in heat race improved to 4th in B-Main and went from 15th to 3rd in feature picking up the Hard Charger award. Record 60th USAC national sprint car win for Dave Darland. He was the only driver that stayed up on top the whole race. Nearly everyone else ran down low. Dave pounded the cushion hard the whole race, even after he was passed down low and it looked like top was going away he stuck with it and worked it harder. Once he got into lapped traffic it was over. The lapped cars were blocking Windom down low and the top had clear sailing. |
Had to travel a one lane, gravel/dirt road, and drive thru a creek, to get there, (thanks to construction on 46, and google maps) but what a great nite of racing. DD drove a masterful race, hanging on the rim by a thread, and the rest of the field put on an exciting show, especially Logan in the 5b. Race savers have come a long way, would like to see other tracks adopt them, as companion class. Have noticed that car counts are great so far this year, and there are some really good young guns coming on. Now, Haubstat, or LBurg?

Thank you for the updates! Congratulations to DD and the Goodnight crew!! :8::8:

Good early season B-ton race. Track was slick but pretty decent for a B-ton surface. Couple of grooves that worked. Leaders side by side for about half of the race. Brady Short setup worked well for Seavey. Sure they pounded in his head to not get off that bottom. Stout USAC field of cars. Crowd was kinda weak in my opinion. B-Ton half pot $ always sketchy??? Haubstadt tonight to see who can master it. See ya there in a bit!

Speaking of the half pot, I haven’t seen Katie working at Bloomington this year. She was at Putnamville last week. Yes, it appeared the crowd was not nearly as large as the opening night. It was sad to hear the announcement by Pat Sullivan at the end of the evening that someone had broken a toilet in the men's restroom and the facility had to be closed.

Good show last night, complete at 9:15.However something I didn't understand,Thankfully no one was injured in the red flag situation, however one of the drivers involved exited his car, walked to the work area, returned to his car and restarted??:11:
