Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
We are looking at making the schedule for next year, what would you like to see.
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I could make it down there 3 or 4 times. Maybe 4 or 5 if you ran the Brownstown Bombers, as the support class. I think I'm 2 for 2 as far as my shows attended/good shows seen ratio goes.
Jerry |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
The Bombers are by far the best class we have ..I love em!!
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Would love to see 2 MSCS shows in addition to Usac
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Dont know about that...we will see though. USAC is a more feasable option than MSCS as far as Ive heard for next year. BUTTTTTTTT ya know, anything can happen
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Are you pushing for a Sprint Week date?
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
get the sprints there every week and i will be there its 10 miles from my house..and get a sprint week show also ..also chris i read i read on brownstown website you will not be announcing there next year where you going? i know people give you alot of **** on here but you are probably one of the best announcers out there at least you do know something about the racing and who is driving what car..
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I would like to see them run everyweek there. Good show and closer to home.

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Saturday night ya had a big ole sinkhole down in turn one, gonna need to get that fixed first. Other than that it was a pretty racey race track. :applaud:
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Yeah, all that rain earlier in the week made the track really soft. But the cars seemed to avoid it pretty well.
As far as announcing next year goes, im leaning more towards not doing it. Depending on how things go during the offseason with other ventures. |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Im not against sprint car racing at Brownstown, In fact Im for some shows. I think running saturday nights is becoming a issue to many tracks in car count numbers with many other tracks trying them out on sat nights.
Id really like to see you work with other tracks setting up big show weekends and maybe taking a off night like a thursday. Not necessaraly big show per sey but 3-5 grand 250-300 to start type shows. It was pretty clear this year that except for some $$$ teams were racing closest to home. Chuck |

__________________ Sprint cars of course Chris, without all of the support classes please.MSCS would be interested in a date or two I would think, seeing how this years race was rained out. USAC I know was considering a Sprint Week date at Brownstown.Don't know how "receptive" your promoter is to Sprint cars seeing how Brownstown is primiraly a "full bodied car track".Best wishes in your endeavors with the IRL. |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
The promoter is the one asking about the interest, he is definately interested in Sprints. He has had many inquiries about racing them next year. Hopefully it works.
As far as the IRL thing goes, ill find out sometime during the offseason. Although it would kill me to leave the dirt. |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I would rather come there than Paragon or Putnamville. I am not gonna mud my car up working the track in at Putnamville and just don't really like Paragon black slick huggy pole format.
Don't care if you run any MSCS or USUC races, just pay $100 to unload and race, qualifications would be great and no DAM Tire rule! I bet you would get alot more cars if you ran this kind of format. Would love to give more input if needed.....Lets go Racin!!! |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I really don't think another sprint car track in Indiana is going to help the sport. The economy is on the verge of collapse, and we want to thin the car counts even more??????

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
If they are special shows the dont most promoters usally work together so as not to step on each others tracks to much.
I am just asking a question here ok. Kyle |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I dont think youll see us step on anyones toes
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
When you run the Sprint cars, I would really like for you to have the American Mini Sprints or the:checkered: Midwest Mini Sprint Series run with them as their support class. Very Quick cars with the wing, and have electric starters that make them self sufficient cars. I think they would put on a good show.

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Sprintweek would be fine, especially if Brownstown would be cool with a midweek date. A few shows sprinkled in on the right dates would go over really well, I'd imagine. Really, it's gonna be a lot easier on equipment than Brownstown, so there's an opening for that kind of race track to book a few shows...

So the way I see it, your opportunities are very limited at best.Did you ever consider competing in the Demo Derbies at county fairs?Surely they don't have all these silly rules.:) |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
They have tire rules, no concrete in the tires...:P

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Dump crappy camp from Sprintweek, add Brownstown. Why run on Saturday. Run sprinters on Sunday nights twice a month. It really shouldn't interfere with Kokomo, you don't see many downstate cars there anyway. It all depends on the economy though. If it takes the dump, nobody is racing.
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
would be great to see another track running sprints weekly without interupting anyone elses weekly program. another sprintweek race and mscs 10000 to win are also very desireable. if you hurt allision who cares. hes trying to get sprint racing out of indiana anyway. point taken THAT.

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Sprints at Brownstown Great, but prepare the track for Sprint cars not Late Models...
Pay a good purse, no more $1,400 to win shows and $100 to start...pay at least $2,500 to win and $250 to start and $100 to show up! 1. Pay the money (including good starting pay) 2. You will get the cars 3. When you get cars you will get the crowd! 4. Work with other promoters and DON'T schedule a conflicting date! Maybe try a special Thursday night show or Sundays when Tri-State doesn't race. Remember track prep starts before race day!!!! |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I think we had a great track for the USAC race, we have actually had a great track ALL year long.
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
double post sorry
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I would be there a lot if not all the time also, it would be a place thats easy on equipment for a change, and i think that will play a HUGE role in the future of our sport, people will go where they can afford to race regularly
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Broc, did you ever give Tim a call?
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
I just got your message about 2 hours ago but i will tuesday evening
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Think it would be great to see them more frequently. I agree with Broc on this one in that it would be easy on equipment with alot of room to race. There are probably several people who don't want to try there luck at "the burg", that don't like dealing with the mud pit at Putnamville, and don't care to slide around at Paragon. I for one would definitely love to go down to Brownstown to race in my rookie year in sprints. I never had a chance in a modified but would love to in a sprint car.

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Forgot to add this. Would sunday be out of the question? What does the fair board have to say about that? You can pull several cars in on some Sunday shows.
Bart King |
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Making the drive to Kokomo on several occasions and see very few southern cars there. I agree with the earlier post about maybe every other Sunday night. I would make the ride across US 50. Bob Bressert

Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Tim was very happy with the USAC event, and I think was leaning more towards their sanctioning. But like I said, its early on and you never know, you might see both in 2009
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Usac sprintweek show and a MSCS show. No brainer:thumb
|
Re: Brownstown Sprint Car Opinions
Brian and I would come down a lot more often if you ran sprints on a regular schedule. And you have to announce! It would not be Brownstown without you!
