Winter dirt games.

Racing was great at Bubba, weather made for a nice break. But I still have to hold the Burg in the top spot as an overall experience for sprint racing. Would love to see them hold a 3 day event at Lawrenceburg. Have to see how Mansfield stacks up!

Had a good time again at Ocala. Looks like another solid year shaping up.

Did you visit Garlits museum?

Longtime sprinter 2/20/18 8:34 PM

I visited the museum, was completely blown away. Coolest display of cars ever. Don was there running around like a teenager, at 86 years old. Amazing!

I went there, has to be the best drag racing display anywhere. But i didn't get to meet Garlits... you're lucky!
Speedy Bill's museum in Lincoln , Nebraska is better for circle track stuff, tho....

Good racing. They finally got the program running right on Saturday. Friday was the worst with the mod lites out till 7:30 or so. Be interesting to find out where the first night of Sprint Week is going to be. They made it sound like we were going to be in awe.

We were happy to see racing in Feb,none in Indiana for sure.Temps in the 80's,plenty of sun.
Glad to hear that Tyler Clem will recooperate after his nasty crash,it will be several months though.
What I don't understand why the show wasn't started at the advertised time on Thursday & Friday.
Other than that,it was great to see Funk,Al Pierce and the gang from the Burg.
Plus all the Drivers & Crews.

OK, so what was your favorite car?
I have one in mind, very unique, one of a kind design & successful early drag car....
I'll try to find a photo

This wild contraption was my favorite car at Garlits place: The Bustle Bomb, 2 engines, one in front of driver & one behind rear axle... & 2 different engines, 391 ci caddy & 345 ci Olds!
& it actually worked, first car to go 150 in the quarter mile : http://www.hotrod.com/articles/the-l...y-bustle-bomb/

Bustle bomb is unique for sure, but gosh couldn't pick a favorite. I kinda knew Jim Bucher, whos Chevy powered top fuel dragster was there, so I'm partial to it, but don't you have to wonder how Don talked people outta the cars he has acquired? Musta paid unreal amounts for some of them.

Wasn't wild or crazy but he had a 66 dodge Cornett white four door plain Jane grocery getter with a hemi,if I had that I would always be getting groceries!
