2nd annual Kokomo Klash October 17th & 18th
 

The Kokomo Speedway welcomes everyone to bring down the curtain on the 2008 race season with the 2nd annual Kokomo Klash. We would like to thank all the drivers, crew and fans who have visited the track during the 2008 season and look foward to seeing everyone one more time. :checkered:

The 2nd Annual Kokomo Klash at the Kokomo Speedway will be October 17th & 18th.

Friday Night

Fri. hot laps start at 6:30 racing at 7:30.
Sat. hot laps start at 5:30 racing at 6:30.

Can't wait! I only hope that I can get away from work in time to get a seat near the top. With me being in Illinois(2 & 1/2 hours away) & Indiana thinking it's on the Atlantic shore (eastern time) it will be tough. This will be my 11th trip to Kokomo(whats that say about the track & the reg. racing). I usually get to sit top row to the right corner of the press box (towards 1st turn) & would sure appreciate if someone could help me out with a couple of seats there. Are you hearin me? Jimmy? Tanya? You guys know where I usually sit. Regardless, lets hope for more great Fall weather even if I'm sitting in the front row with mud covering me. What a great way to end the season. Hot Laps is Quals for the sprints correct?

They normally do group qualifying for the sprint cars.

We attended the KK last year, we did see two sprint races, Saturday Night, where the poor guy behind us was taken out by a "flying" object, just missed my wife, and Sunday which was a make-up from the Friday rainout. Guess my point/question is, just one night of Sprint Racing?

I think they would have more fans if they ran sprints both nights but what do I know:nonwingfan:

I kinda wish they would do the Sunday day show again. There is nothing like a day race on dirt imo.

The Sunday day show last year was definitely a one-groove affair, to say the least. But, unlike some others, I'm not going to ***** about it -- like Dirtfan said, it was a makeup from the scheduled Friday night show. What else were they going to do?

With the prevailing wind from the west I sat on the backstretch, so dust was no issue. And the race had enough drama to be decent, despite the conditions. There was plenty to see: Clayton somehow getting ahold of enough to keep picking up the front end in the Trucker's car, Cottle doing a 360 and saving it in one and two, Whitt looking like he was going to pick up win No. 1 until the yellow on the white flag lap, only to have his RR go flat, etc.

I wish they had sprints both nights too, but I'll take whatever I can get this late in the year.

Only if we're staying overnight. Bet the shortbus gets (got) better fuel mileage tho. We get around 6.
