Does the winner get a prize?

Chris Nunn 11/16/17 3:27 PM

Bragging rights and a pat on the back.

I like Casey's guess however. Seems like a very logical choice.

Wherever they go, the team will be lucky to have them. The Hofffman's have been huge supporters of the sport for many decades. Hopefully, the Hofffman's will continue into their next generation supporting the sport.

openwheelfan1 11/16/17 5:57 PM

Okay, what did I miss? What is Chad Boespflug doing next year?

Wasn't till our BARC Xmas meeting last year that I knew anything.

If Richard stays in, He'll stay in, If not, he won't.
Rob's retired. His son is in the Air Force.
CR Brands has been a excellent sponsor and Mean Green is a excellent product. Use it myself and is the proffered choice for most things. Id say a lot hinders on if they want to continue.

As for my guess on the three letters.

BBR Brady Bacon Racing

Mr. Hoffman loves to win races. He will never quit. Figure it out from there.

I'd like to see the madman in a car where he only has to be the driver..

I thought Boespflug owned at least part of that team, in a dual ownership deal. What am I missing?

Re: Hoffman 69

That's what I thought too, and it was more of a CB/Fred Zirzow (spelling?) deal, that the Hoffman/Mean Green association was more a sponsorship thing and the Hoffman's weren't directly involved with day-to-day operations.

Re: Hoffman 69

Dick puts everything he's got into his racing the 69. He likes to win & used to winning. Didn't seem to work-out in 17. not sure what he will do for 18, but u can bet your ass he will try to get it back on the winning circle. His little 500 proves that he is a contender and puts his life into it, just like OLD-TIMER did! NOBODY! is into it like DICK IS!!

This is correct. This year was the same as last for boespflug. Just a rebrand of the 98E. I think the only Thing still completely Hoffman racing is the pavement deal. So basically they are just a sponsor at this point...I anticipate them selecting another established, successful team just like they did prior to this season. Best of like to Chad and the Hoffmans next season.

Talked with Richard a bit earlier today. No details except there will be a HAR in 2018 behind a team and that the announcement will be between thanksgiving and the PRI show. Or the next couple weeks..

He did say he was excited for 2018.

And to let the speculation continue because only he and a couple others know the facts.

rpedersen20 11/18/17 8:34 PM

Back to Bacon if I was guessing.

Kydehart 11/18/17 9:46 PM

I'm sure the Hoffmans love Brady but he doesn't have an established non-wing program. I could see them backing him if he was buying some non-wing stuff, but that would mean he wouldn't be doing the Dooling/Hayward 63 stuff. Personally I loved seeing BC's 63 out there with Bacon behind the wheel and his mixed discipline schedule and I hope that continues.

I predict Tony Stewart will run a full USAC schedule and KTJ takes on the Little 500 :5::5:

Yep! And it begins...SMH.

Dirtfan 11/20/17 9:44 PM

More initials. JCj

Im thinking KTJ for the full time dirt.
JCj and TSR for Little 500

I have no facts, Just hunches

Blacki-Suede 11/21/17 11:47 PM

I’ll go with Eric Gordon for the Little 500. A little old, but a string of wins, and top 3s in his resume.

Hoffman Sprint Car, to many options to even take a guess, but how about Dave Darland and the Steve Phillips Team?

scottyCbus 11/22/17 10:25 AM

Eric Gordon is retired! Probably will be someone else! But we can always dream!

Helping out and Racing again are two different things! But if he does drive the car then you will get no complaints from me!

Per the Hoffman Racing on Facebook approx. noon today.

"A big shout out to all of our fans for their interest in our plans for 2018. Monday morning look for a PR on the plans for the 2018 USAC National Sprint Car Series. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving."

Shawn 11/24/17 3:24 PM

I noticed the photo with the Facebook post is of Brady, not a recent photo with Chad. I’m not sure it means a thing, but just something to stir the pot. 😬

Rich Mersereau 11/24/17 5:58 PM

Richard has decided to return to the family roots and he's buying a midget. Rob is coming back to crew chief it.:44:

i love dirt track racing 11/24/17 7:43 PM

MEAN GREEN RETURNS IN 2018 AS PRIMARY SPONSOR FOR HOFFMAN RACING WITH KEVIN THOMAS JR. IN THE SEAT OF THE ICONIC #69 IN THE 2018 USAC NATIONAL SPRINT CAR SERIES

Loveland, OH (Nov. 27, 2017) – Hoffman Racing (HAR) is proudly announcing that Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser is returning for the 6th year as the primary sponsor for HAR, which is pursuing an unprecedented USAC National Sprint Car Series Championship #12 in 2018. Returning as associate sponsors will be Lykins Energy Solutions, Hoosier Tire and XYZ. HAR will continue to fly the flag of The Military Order of The Purple Heart as an official MOPH Race Team.

Pushing the “loud pedal” will be Cullman, Alabama’s Kevin Thomas Jr. He started racing at an early age and was the BMX bike champion in the state of Alabama by the age of 8. After running mini-sprints he graduated to sprint cars in 2007. In 2013 he won 7 USAC Sprint car feature wins and was named “Most Improved Driver”. KT formed his own team in 2017 and won 7 USAC National races including Indiana Sprint Week and the Budweiser Oval Nationals.

“I’m grateful to be able to add my name to the long list of people that have driven for Hoffman Racing. When Mr. Hoffman approached me, I was kind of shocked. It’s a great opportunity, and I’m incredibly thankful to get to be a small piece of their history. We’re going to make a run at the sprint car championship. I think it’d be cool to get them their 12th title. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing season this past year, and I hope we can duplicate in 2018. I’m really looking forward to driving the No.69,” said Kevin Thomas Jr.

“We were thrilled to be able to work out a partnership with KT to acquire his considerable driving talents for 2018. We are confident that this combination will keep us in the hunt for the 2018 season to win races and that 12th USAC National Sprint Car Championship we are pursuing”, said Richard Hoffman, owner and President of Hoffman Racing.

“Mean Green is excited to return as a partner with Hoffman Auto Racing. We are grateful for the support we have received from the Hoffman Team and fans throughout the years and we are proud to extend our partnership for another winning season” commented Mariely De La Fuente , Brand Manager Mean green Cleaner and Degreaser.

Tim Waechter, Vice President of Marketing/Public Relations/Social Media commented “Mean Green has done a tremendous job of marketing Hoffman racing and Sprint car racing to build their brand awareness and volume.
