Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
So Chris by reading your first post, can we expect to see sprints at Twin Cities on a regular basis next summer?
|
I wouldn't say regular. But more often than just once.
|
Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
what if 8 cars show up
|
There will be more than 8 cars.
|
Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
8, 10, 15, 25 or 100 they are still trying to run sprints at Twin Cities. It's there choice lets applaud them for trying to give sprint car drivers and fans another option! Besides they have been pushing the show for awhile now so I think they will get some cars. :):6::32:

We're planning on attending, haven't been to TCRP in quite awhile (2012),have heard some improvements have been made.

Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
Fishnman actually don't have to work, plan on being there, with a few in tow

Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
To answer the question to if 8 cars show up....
we will be using the 24 and under purse obviously :) |
Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
Open tire rule for this event
|
2 days till what should be a great night of Sprint Car action. Weather looking great and Tim is putting in major overtime to have a great track. Hope to see everyone there to support what a great job Tim and the guys have done at this track this year.

They need to do a show earlier in the month. I like the speed that this track carries. Seen some good sprintcar races there.

How do the drivers/owners/fans feel about a purse structure based upon a minimum number of cars? Does it help or hinder car counts not knowing exactly what you will be racing for?

Inverting positions.

It's race day at Twin Cities Raceway. Come out and support this great track. Hotlaps scheduled for 5:30 PM

Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
I was planning on running tonight but do to engine overheating issue last night at Bloomington I won't be able to make it tonight. I very disappointed as I want to support tracks that utilize and open tire rule but I don't have time to figure out the issue and can't afford to lose an engine. Good luck to all that run tonight and hoping to run some races there next season.

There will be more next season David and hope to see you then.

Wrong choice 2 days in a row. 8 sprints at North Vernon and 1 of those is a RaceSaver with the wing off. Should have drove on out 50 to Brownstown.
|
11 are set up to qualify. A little more than 8.
|
Of which 3 or 4 are 305 with the wing off.
|
JJ Hughes fast time 14.17 . Looks like 3 305’s took the wing off. Remember going to Eldora as a kid in the early 90’s and Jack Hewit ran top 5 at Eldora in a 360
|
2 nights...2 disappointments. I figured there be at least 18-20 here tonight. 11 is pathetic. Are the racesavers even running tonight?
|
305 wings didn’t hot lap. Must have told them to take the wings off. Only saw 3 maybe 4 of them
|
We are not going to give up on the sprint cars. We understand we are taking a chance adding them this late in the year. Car count isn't what we wanted, but there's always next year with some more shows
|
Heat 1 Garret Abrams, JJ Hughes top 2
|
Heat 2 Hakins, Drew Able. Top 4 hopefully will put in a good show. Kudos to the 305 taking off the wings. Track keeps slicking off the better they will do better
|
All I have to say is yes we have a low car count but it is a start. We will run them next year and hope to have some good shows. Thank you to those who came to support this both in the pits and in the stands.

Re: "Sprint Car Saturday" at TCRP
Here is the deal guys, it is a chance weekend to schedule a show especially only a month or so before the show and late in the year. Some guys are just done for the year. I know for a fact Jake Scott is racing at Eldora and Josh Collin Parker is over there helping him. Landon Simmon and Chris Phillips are running the Jessie Hockett race as well as a couple other guys. Putnamville is running a $2000 to win show. My car was having issue with over heating at Bloomington last night and my brother has been dealing with a knee that needs replaced all season and it is getting worse so he has decided to call it a year and get it fixed over the winter.
On a second note be thankful in the Midwest we have multiple choice to race and watch sprint cars close. I raced out west when I started and I towed 6 hours to do so. Don't bash race tracks for trying it doesn't help the cause it only make track owners question if they want to continue to get beat up for trying to provide me and you another option. Support your local track or you may not have one to go to..... Thank you to the owner and staff for working hard to provide fans and racers a place to enjoy dirt track racing. |
