I can understand special events but every weekend!!!

dustbowl 4/11/14 1:48 PM

Other tracks are raising pit passes AND cutting purses I'd be happy he just opted for an extra 5 bucks.

Im not going to mention other tracks by name but a couple did it two years ago and unlike the Burg, Haven't raised the purse every year like Lburg, Don't pay 225 to start and don't pay 100 dollar tow for sprints.

While I'll always agree price increases suck. Theres two sides to every coin
Im sure the lighting, diesel, insurance and everything else hasn't gone down.

That being said, 4.50 for a pretzel with cheese? $&$#(##&$(@#* :)

I've seen places renting pit stalls for the year.

Don't some california tracks charge so much per car to park? Something I've yet to see in Indiana except ORP and back when Mel had to mow the grounds at the Burg and charged 2.00 for inside the gate parking.

EXACTLY!!!! I would feel like I hit the lottery if I only had to pay $30 for a pit pass. Its sad when we show up to a track and I am somewhat relieved that pit passes are only $40.

cshuman 4/11/14 4:52 PM

Man Terry, if you guys only had someone out there to represent the teams and owners, and not let that kind of thing happen.. Lol 😉

Yes, most of the tracks have paid reserved pit spaces for their weekly divisions. I am not sure the cost for most but I know our mini-sprint track charges $100 for the season.

On my only visit to Perris I was yelled at by a parking attendant when I didn't have my money out to pay the $5 to park my car, never mind what it cost to get in.

Its not the track promoter charging for parking, its the fairground board. Most of the racetracks in CA are on public property. The State used to give money to the fairgrounds for operation and maintenance. A coupke years ago the State eliminated the funds frin the state budget and the fairgrounds were left with trying to find a way to generate the lost revenue. Midt have resorted to requiring a parking fee for events. Not that this makes it any easier to pay but the promoter has no say and does not get any of the money.

California isn't another state but another country.

Chuck what are you talking about? The Burg pays $225 to start, but the payout hasn't raised for several seasons. Just saying. Not getting in any debate, just stating the facts.

Not going to argue with you JT but your facts are wrong and a couple years ago there wasn't even the hundred two money. and it paid 225 for 15-20th now that's just 20th He's raised something, somewhere in the purse every year since 2010

Ok, not going to argue either, but I have print offs of the purse every year back to 2011 and it is the same.

talking about lincoln park...yes he did...but he does not raise them for special events

cshuman 4/12/14 11:41 AM

The Burg does pay $225 to start, more then any other local track, but it also only pays $350 for 5th..

I never said they did.

Duane Hancock 4/12/14 12:42 PM

If you look at Gas City's payout now it's a nice increase finally!!

treecitytornado 4/12/14 4:01 PM

Bloomington is 1200 to win, 200 to start, but pays dang good inside the Top 10, which it should when you run your b**** off! It is also 100 tow money too.
I echo Casey's statement as well! The Burg is a super fast 3/8 now, not a 1/4 mile anymore, and it should pay closer to $500 for 5th. Pay less to win and 200 to start if that helps pay more to the Top 10.

$350 for 5th seems weak...

minispeed 4/12/14 7:24 PM

Weak is 19 sprints and 10 mods. Do you think the price increase had anything to do with it!!! Lol :5:

Re: Burg pit pass $30?????

Sounds pretty good when Eldora has a 5 grand mod race, Twin Cities, Brownstown, Florence and brush creek all running them.
Kokomo has half the sprint drivers for a midget show
and another third are at LPS for a 4000 to win show.

Id love to be there!

I did just look at Gas Cities payout, Impressive through the pack, not so much on top
