No Way Out 40 now $14,000!!!!

14th ANNUAL NO WAY OUT 40…BIGGER…BETTER…BADDER!

The 14th Annual No Way Out 40 presented by Hoosier Truck Sales and Wehmiller Express is now bigger, and better than ever. The event for Non Winged Sprint Cars will be held at the Paragon Speedway in Paragon, IN on Saturday night March 19th, and will pay an event record $14,000 to win! With $1000 to start the 40 lap main event. Nic Faas won the inaugural running of the event at Twin Cities Raceway Park in 2009, and former winners of the event include Jesse Hockett, Dave Darland, Thomas Meseraull, Christopher Bell, Bryan Clauson, Robert Ballou, Chad Boespflug, two time winner Kevin Thomas, Jr., and Kyle Cummins.

The man behind the No Way Out 40, Mason Fleetwood has done a lot of juggling, moving, and shaking to make this event the biggest it's ever been, and he took the time to answer a few questions about the No Way Out 40.

What was the motivation behind moving the No Way Out to a new date?

“Main reason is what is best for all racers, that they can run both big paying races. The date change is for the racers only, because I want a long relationship with Paragon Speedway, and that is why I moved the race. The main focus on switching dates is for the race teams. And that is what promoting is about, is making sure the race teams are taken care of and the fans can see the best show possible.”

This race is special to you, why is that?

“It is the first big race that I ever put together that has been a success every year.”

This will be the highest paying No Way Out 40, what was the decision behind this?

“We were going to pay 10K to win, $1000 to start, to start with, the main reason is that me and my business partners want to have the biggest race in the state of Indiana, and something big that early in the season can really give a jump start to someone's race program for the season.”

You've put together a great crew for this event, how important is that for a well produced show?

“We have some of the best employees to help put this together between myself and Tim Keithley, with having new young upstart owners/promoters,We will have the best fire crew in the country with Bobby Gomph and his Lawrenceburg Fire and Safety Crew, the best announcer, flagman, and track and tower crew”

Fleetwood also wanted to note that they will run the sprint car program quickly, “The goal is to have sprint fans out by 9:30, this race IS to cater to the sprint car fans mainly, since this IS a big sprint show. Plus you never know what the weather is going to bring, being this early in the Spring”

Along with the $14,000 to win, $1000 to start payday for the Non Winged Sprint Cars, the world famous Lawrenceburg Speedway Fire and Safety Crew are putting up $100 for fast time in EACH Sprint Car qualifying group.

On tap along with the Non Winged Sprint Cars will be the Super Stocks paying $1,000 to win, and $100 to start, and the ever popular Hornet division paying $500 to win and $75 to start.

This event will be broadcast live on Internet PPV via www.dirt2media.tv if you are unable to make it to the track. Ryan Bowling of Dirt2Media.tv expressed his delight in broadcasting this event. “We are thrilled to showcase such a prestigious event like the No Way Out 40 on our network. Mason has built one of the highest paying and well respected Sprint Car events there is, and again, we are just thrilled to be a part of it.”

Further information on the No Way Out 40 will be released soon (gate times, admission, schedule of events)

So let me see if I have this right: 3/26 at Paragon for $14K. 3/19 at Brownstown for $10K?

Unless one or the other changes dates.....

Chris Nunn 2/9/22 6:54 PM

Correct. Our date will not be changing at Paragon

Other way around. 3/19 is the Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. So that would make Brownstown 3/26

Your date did change at paragon. It will be 03/19 instead of 03/26.

Thank you Mason for changing the date and allowing 2 good paying shows in back to back weeks. You are the bigger man for doing so and I will be there to support.

I was referring to any more date changes. They won’t be happening

I disagree with the statement that this is better for the racers. It might be better for the top 10 teams but the other 60 - 70 cars just got screwed. There was a chance for some lower teams to make a show and pocket $1k, but now their chances just got tremendously cut.

So let me see..... I got this backwards:

3/19 at Paragon sprints for $14K.
3/19 at Brownstown Lucas Oil Late Models for $15K.
3/26 at Brownstown sprints for $10K.

I am sorry if I confused anyone......

Had me confused for a minute. I was gonna go to paragon for the show but with the dates switched, I'll be at Brownstown helping some friends with their car.

Most of them 60-70 cars won't get paid a grand at any show this year but get it to start just one of these. HOW'S THAT SCREWED?

I remember the no way outs to be well attended but non of em had near that count in fact several teams are just getting the final pieces of their cars together and many are not ready as their normal track seasons start in april or later

This is easily answered. A lot of teams are ready. They just don't go because it is a USAC teams show without the USAC officials. So instead of wasting resources on a race that they will not make, they keep their equipment parked.

Now there are two races. Scenario: 5 USAC teams go to one and 5 USAC teams go to the other. That leaves 15 spots open for other teams at each track. A total of 30.

So with it split to two dates the USAC teams go to each race and take 10 spots and leaves only 10 spots for other teams. That means that there are 10 lower teams that no longer have a chance.

This was not for the "RACERS"!!! This was for the almighty dollar. Now "ALL" of the top teams
will be attracted so "ALL" of the fans will go to both and maximum $$$$$ is made!

There are a lot of changes made to "Help the Racer" and all it does is cost them more money!

kcarm92 2/10/22 8:39 AM

is there really 10 usac teams anymore, I still think it's a win for both fans and racers, going head to head with the ice breaker will not be a problem, brownstown will have their late model fans ,and sprint fans will be at paragon,

Is their 10 teams? well there suppose to have 40 teams heading to Florida. So I think that most teams are ready.

Re: No Way Out 40 now $14,000!!!!

This race has always had half a dozen or more heavy hitters, KTJ. Bacon when he has a non usac ride, Ballou, Bell, Tmez, Short. Last time I was at the Amati Race at Paragon, Two of the top five, including the winner were locals. Yet there were eight to ten usac racers there.

PAW 2/10/22 10:38 AM

Unbelievable! Some of you on here whining and had your panties in a knot because it was on the same date. Now they're on different dates and your panties are still in a knot and you're still whining!😢😢

I can kind of see spanky's logic here. I don't think anyone is truly upset with two races on two different dates, it was just how the scenarios were presented.

Two on two differents are still better than two on one in my opinion.

Some spanks would b1tch if you paid em 100 bucks to go watch

This problem is easily solved. Give all 60 participants a $1000 for showing up and the winner gets a $25 gift card to Taco Bell for their drive home. We will rename the race the Xtra Cheesy Gordita 40.
To the victor goes the spoils.

I have to agree 100% with you! Win/Win for fans and Win/Loss for several race teams. Tracks have to have fans to pay like this, just saying. Maybe this pissin match will continue on for years and more race teams will prepare and up their game for two huge shows in March. Stands must be full, or neither show will happen butting heads like this. JMO

Re: No Way Out 40 now $14,000!!!!

Isn't a race supposed to be a competition. In competition not everyone wins. If the prize money is increased, shouldn't it be a little harder to win? Wouldn't be more rewarding to those who are successful?

ThrowbackRacingTeam 2/11/22 2:31 PM

Calling it a big sprint car race but at the same time saying you’re going to run them off really quick so you have time for all the stock cars is kind of hypocritical.

I don't see anything mentioning the other classes. Maybe you are just trying to start some **** !

Chris Nunn 2/12/22 1:37 PM

Yeah I’m not sure how we are trying to cater to the stock cars when we are trying to get the sprint fans on their way home because a lot of them aren’t fender fans. Promoters can’t win. Lol
