Who Knows?... Have been trying to find out what the weekly payout is....Let alone what the Thursday night payout might be. Cannot understand why they won't post the payouts for the sprints.?

Little girl and a little boy were sitting in a bath tub. The little girls points to the little boy and says "What's that?" Little boy says "I dunno" Little girls says "Can I touch it?" Little boy says "Heck NO you broke yours off already!"

A few years later the boy says to the girl "I want what I want when I want it!" The girl responds "You'll get what I got when I get it!"

I think Spiker is saying "You'll get what I got when I get it!"

Be Patient boys. Perfection takes a while.

Well thanks for telling us about little boys and girls touching each other :15: It's a week away from when this is starting (May 31) and it would be nice if the teams :31: and fans :32: know what's going on. It's not that big of deal & I'm sure Joe all ready knows what he's doing with this, so post what time your starting the show and the pay out for the teams. Not everybody can take off work whenever they want so a heads up for the fans & teams would just make scense so we can make arangements to get to the track.

The times are the same as a Saturday night show and I'd say the payoff would still be 1400 to Win and 200 to start.

I think it will be a hit,,once he adds a support class and rotates them every week

Re: putnamville on thursdays

It will be a hit if they DONT add a support class. If they add a support class and start getting out late then it will surely fail.

Avon Open Wheel fan 5/23/12 11:59 AM

I know this will not be popular with everyone but a support class if its done right wont kill the show. there is now way that you can just run 4 sprint car heats and roll out the feature 5 minutes later. if they can throw in a feature for another class that would fill in the 45 minutes or so for the sprints to get ready for the feature. it would also bring in a few more fans to support the cars from the support class.

treecitytornado 5/23/12 1:28 PM

They could do a lower budget deal for the Midget/Mini-Sprint/Focus guys, like Montpelier is doing.

Like I posted earlier there are a few gaps in a program if we run sprints only.

They could run a support heat race or two after qualifying. Then another couple after the last sprint heat race and then the support class feature after the B main for the sprints. I do not think it should slow the show down that much. They can line up the sprint cars so they are ready to push off right after the support race is over. 16th Street Speedway ran both midgets and legends on several occasions and the show always got over fast.

Your memory must be failing you. I went to almost every race at the ol ballpark and many of them lasted well into the night. I remember fireworks at 1:30 AM several times. My question is WHY do you all seem to want support classes when most times people are complaining about the support classes. Here we have someone who is giving us what most people have been asking for and for some of you its still not good enough. thats all I am saying. Flame me if you want but I just dont get it.

Support classes are a financial support class for the promoters back (PIT) gate. Without them the promoter has to rely on general admission and food sales to make good on their investment.

There are reasons why tracks close down... not enough money coming in to make it worth the investment is one of them for sure.

My question is if there is NO support class but the promoter really needs the extra support group... would fans pay double or triple the amount they pay now to attend a race without a support group. I think I "NO" the answer.

I'm for whatever keeps tracks open... Pays racers more... and makes fans mad. :3:;):5:

Bill if they intended to have a support class then it should have been announced that way. I agree with what you are saying but it was announced as sprints only so he evidently thought he could pay the purse from the front and back gate when he announced it. Dont ya think?

Yes, John... It was announced with no support class and to my knowledge that hasn't changed.

I believe there has been some " what if " discussions but like I said... to my knowledge nothing has changed.

I like it when you get fired up... It makes me laugh and lord knows I need that. :D

Re: putnamville on thursdays

This is crazy! Look, LPS is offering something that many of us have wanted for a long time. A one class mid-week event that starts relatively early and should end relatively early for those having to work the next day. It is a low priced event at a fan friendly track and everything we fans need to know, except maybe the concesssion menu is available on their website. Those having a need to know the purse breakdown probably should call the track. We complain when the support classes last too long and now we want support classes on a night when people need or want to get home early. Why not support the track for a few nights and formulate an opinion then make your gripes and complaints known. I think the LPS management is taking a big risk to bring some innovation to the normal weekend scheduling. They probably have little idea how many fans OR competitors will show up. I think we should be applauding their efforts instead of complaining in advance. Give them a chance and LET'S GO RACING!!!
