Sounds good don't have a chance ,because promoters won't do it they can't take the chance to put up the purse for the months that it would take the racers to see it is here to stay. It is easy to cut the cost one compression rule, equiptment is not too high check once put sealfrom block to head on both sides. Also as I said in the 70's to the Speedway crowd one wire internale mags. But none of this is going to happen because we all will still be fighting it next year. In closing look for the new TOYOTA alum 410 at your favorite track next year!

If Chevy is gonna freshen em...sounds like ya better have 2 or 3 of em in case they can't turn em around real quick.

Re: Chevy test there sprint engine
What they are trying to do Superduke, is try to get an Organization like USAC or MSCS to mandate this engine therefore the guys on the local scene will buy the engines too. But, like the mandatory DT-suck3 the cost after everybody HAS TO BUY IT will go up to what ever they want to charge for them like the tire is now.
Its a great idea but seems to me like it would hurt a lot of engine builders who rely on all the sprint car business. Not to mention the chain reation to engine parts people. The best series I have ever seen was in Wilmot WI where everybody had to run a 1 3/4" header, spec RR tire (although I hate) and weight rule. There is just no way to cheat on a header rule. |
Re: Chevy test there sprint engine
If USAC mandated a spec engine and MSCS didn't where do you think everyone would run? I haven't seen an engine rule for MSCS so what would stop someone from running a larger displacement or an overhead cam engine with MSCS? Or has this already been done?

Re: Chevy test there sprint engine
Well since USUC has about 8 teams that follow them on their tour and MSCS gets about 40 cars everywhere they go and pay more than USUC I would say that MSCS is where the motor would go over the best.
