Re: kokomo updates
Think they will give this Indiana Sprint Week Championsip to Dave Darland this year like they did last year when he DID'NT make the show at Haubstadt but let him start the feature anyway on a "provisional"?
Jon Stanbrough was the rightfull winner last year. Hate to see him out of the race on last lap:thumbsdown: Can anybody report what happened on last lap when Levi got upside down? |
Re: kokomo updates
ballou flipped coming off of 4 landing just short of the flagstand. Levi flipped in melee behind it, looked like he might have got into Ballou after he landed or trying to avoid him.

Re: kokomo updates
Just wanted to comment and say Yeah Dave Darland did win the ISW Championship last year. I have the trophy in my house to prove that. And he did win it fair and square. Sure he took a provisional, but it's part of it there. So not trying to stir anything up but I'm pretty sure it's official and nothing anyone can do about it. And hopefully after this one is over there man We'll prove we earned it... AGAIN...

Re: kokomo updates
That was about the most interesting night of racing I had been to in a while. The lead changes were determined who had the nerve to sling it up again the wall and not lift. The last lap incidents showed how hard these guys were pushing it Jon Stanbrough was leadin when Brett Burdette, and Ched Boespflug spun and Jon had no where to go. Ballou was gaining but had packed the rear rims with a run up on the cushion trying to catch Jon. Robert let it all hang out for the win just coming up short with a wild flip down the front stretch. In the melee Levi Jones clipped Ballou's car coming off 4. Both cars sustained tremendous damage, but thankfully both drivers OK. Indiana Sprint Week is in my opinion better now than ever. 55 cars in the pits, wth a large portion of those 55, with a legitimate chance to win. I really don't remember this much parity up and down the field. This was my first trip to Kokomo, man what a memorable night. BTW I rolled into home at 2:30 CST (3:30 EST) not bad for a nearly 4 hour drive.

Re: kokomo updates
He didn't win it, they (USAC) gave it to him by letting him start a race he didn't make when 1 night before they would't let Stanbrough start the feature at Bloomington because he didn't make the show.
USAC rigged it. End of story. |
