Yep, about a 90 minute drive from Richmond, as I recall. The IRL and USAC were both at RIR and one night I saw that the USCS, I think, was running at VMS. Glad I went. A very nice facility.

I recall asking Rollie about the USAC guys scheduling a race there with little response. Too bad. Might be a good race there. It's either a large 3/8 mile or a small 1/2.

thursday night thunder from ventura or winchester again...

the f1 on an oval is pretty funny...i'll even go a step further and suggest a dirt mile.

I hope it wouldn't be like the 24 hours of the 4 crown held a couple of years ago.It may sound good in thought , but sucks when done for real.

when the usac sprints come east bring along the midgets!! with usac and ardc they would have 50 cars a night. Randy Smith

I would like to see the Indianapolis 500 with this lineup: row 1 Dave Darland Terry Gray Keith Kaufman Row 2 Sammy Swindell Lance DeWeese Roger Crocket Row 3 Mark Dobmier Terry McCarl Shane Cottle Row 4 Dave Steele Johnny Herrera Steve Kinser Row 5 Tony Jones Bill Balog Gary Wright Row 6 Craig Dollansky Tracy Hines Jon Stanborogh Row 7 Levi Jones Rip Williams Jesse Hockett Row 8 Fred Rahmer Dale Blaney Steve Smith Row 9 Eric Gordon Tony Elliott Don Droud Jr. Row 10 Donny Schatz Joey Saldana Tony Stewart Row 11 Kraig Kinser Kevin Swindell Robby Wolfgang. The lineup would include drivers from Indiana-Tennessee-Pennsylvania-Oregon-North Dakota-Iowa-New Mexico-California-Missouri-Ohio-Nebraska-South Dakota. Don't you wonder what the fan base, read that as ATTENDANCE, would be at the speedway with THAT driver roster. There just has to be a Swindell, Kinser and Wolfgang at the back of the pack just to watch these second generation runners move forward. Just an old man dreamin' of the race I would like to see happen.
