65 Ford Mustang, no floor boards, quarter pannels transmission. Dad got me a tranny. I did the rough body work, floor, Got it running and proceeded to wreck it four times (ONly once my fault) Made a lot of money off that car. Somebody bought after it sat behind the garage for a couple years.

Sorry Danny, I couldn't resist!

:O: Jake, I'd not read through this thread yet. Glad I finally did so. :thumb

That may be Marv in front. :D

My first car was a '52 Chevy, dull green in color with 3 on the tree. No power steering or power brakes, of course. Used a quart of oil a week, but then bulk oil was 10 cents a quart in those days.

Those days were in 1967, BTW. Even then that was an older model.

1973 Ford Mustang Mach1, 351 Cleveland,4 bbl. holley, hooker headers,9inch locker rear end c-6 tranny. Bought it with paper route money when I was 13.Knew every inch of that car by the time I turned 16. Probably put 2000 miles on it backing it in and out of dads garage before I turned 16,still miss that car 30 years later..

1970 Chevelle SS LS-5 454, 4-speed, 4.11 posi, cowl induction

Bought it from my brother for $2,200 when I was 14, crashed it in the snow coming home from school when I was 15, and heard my sister-in-law say "I told you so" to my brother.

My mom blamed my dad for not putting snow tires on it - but he and I both knew better.

Would never let my teenage son drive something like that. His sprint car can be very easily replaced.

Damn it. I was stupid.
