Keep the top with enough banking that the it is competitive with a slightly banked bottom.
For example: Bloomington is banked too much on the bottom and when the track goes slick it gets one lane on bottom. Progressive banking will help that. But ya need more progressive banking than Brownstown. Make it the width of Brownstown though. Cars can easily race 4 wide there when the track is right.

Re: new race track southern indiana

Has anything been said about the General Rules and Rules for each class / division yet or are the rules still being looked at?
Just wondered.

Always good to see a OLD track re-open. Good luck to these folks and getting the track ready for racing.

Class rules are not decoded as of now depending on who is going to be helping. We may be working with another promoter and would be using their rules. When we decide ,the rules will be enforced. Also the classes that we will be running are not decided yet either. Any suggestions on a set of class rules just message me and we will look into and determine which will work best for racers and our track style. We r open to any suggestions as of now. I have been contacted by many people recieving a lot of input and ideas from racers and hope that to continue. Havoc Action Sports really appreciates everyone that is helping out and can't wait to start racing. Also we have an idea for practice that will be affordable for the small teams with a prepped track any ideas there will help as well.

i can tell you from racing on that track when it was open after they cut the banking down ton what it is now you could run top and bottom , just remove the trees that are on it now and leave it alone

Well a little investigation today, hopped on the Harley a took a little ride down to Owensburg this morning, there has indeed been some work there at the old Greene Co. Speedway. The trees and horse weeds have been cut down around the Tower or what is left of it ! Lots O' work to be done out there to be done nothing a good excavation crew and a few weeks couldn't clean up. Best of luck Havoc crew !...I'll be back by to check progress

havocactionsports 6/30/12 6:05 PM

Yes lots of work to be done we should have a rather large crew out tomorrow to help clean up. Going to start watering the track next week to get the dirt where we can actually work it. We will be out there early tomorrow if anyone wants to stop by and help or just check out progress.
