Non Winged Sprints To Enter USAC Midget Week Dates

Union County Speedway near Liberty, Indiana. will serve as the 2nd venue for USAC’s 2007 “Indiana Midget Week,” hosting a Thursday night, Aug. 7, 2008 event under the organization of Tony Barhorst.

The race kicks off a six race slate with races at Gas City I-69 Speedway Wednesday, Aug. 6, Union County Speedway Thursday Aug. 7, Bloomington Speedway on Friday, August 8, Lawrenceburg Speedway Aug. 9 and Kokomo Speedway Aug. 10.

“I am pleased to be able to have this event in the Liberty-Richmond area,” said Barhorst. The owners of Union County have really upgraded the facility in the last two years. A new concrete and aluminum grandstand area, concession stands, and large new lights will provide good racing and a fine fan experience for this special USAC Midget Week event. This 3/8th mile slightly banked track will provide good USAC Midget and non sanctioned sprint car racing that night.”

General admission tickets are priced at $20.00 for adults, and $5.00 for kids 16 and under with a paid adult admission. They can be ordered through Classic Motorsports at 317-418-3216. ATV Stuntman Henry "The Pit Bull Rife announced in an interview before the Rumble In Ft. Wayne that he will make a jump at the Liberty date. Asked what he may jump.. Rife told Patrick Sullivan, "it has not been determined yet, however I could jump a fleet of ambulances"
