And as far as money in the sport??? Top finishing Toyota receives like 2500 and second fininishing Toyota silver crown receives like 1200 or so, not to mention a points fund. TOM HUNT IS THE USAC WEST COAST DIRECTOR AND HAD A MEETING WITH CHEVY TO PUT THE ENGINE IN THE WEST COAST USAC SERIES! EMMITT HAHN ALSO KNOWS ABOUT THE ENGINE!:checkered:

Sorry, Duke, but Scott Baue is not the one who just doesn't get it. How many 410s do you think there are in the Midwest right now? And how many of the folks owning these 410s are going to rush down to their local Chevrolet dealer to buy one of the spec engines? Without established tracks and/or sanctioning bodies endorsing (and enforcing) these engines, the idea of spec engines replacing all of those 410s is just "pie in the sky" dream land stuff -- nice to wish for, but certainly not worth getting anyone's shorts in such a knot that he winds up wearing a thong.

HOW MANY CAN AFFORD TO RACE 3 OR 4 TIMES A WEEK? HIRE A DRIVER? AND RACE FOR $1000 TO WIN? WHAT IS A 410 ITS A SPEC ENGINE! WHY NOT A 500 CI. TURBO CHARGED! I'AM NOT SELLING THESE ENGINES BUT I'AM FOR CUTTING THE HIGH COST OF RACING MIDGETS AND SPRINTS CARS! THERE ARE A HELL OF A LOT MORE 360 CI IN THE USA THEN 410CI BLAME TED JOHNSON AND WOO FOR THE 410 $50000 ENGINES! THEN YOU ALL JUMPED ON BOARD INCLUDING USAC WHEN THEY HAD A 355 CI. Its not about everyone trading in their 410. Its about unhooking them enough so that 370 can run with em. Or a 360-427-454 ect.

The cost of the 410 is simply because its 410 and they keep working and working to get more and more out of it. Talking to Rob Chenneys dad a couple years back he said he couldn't get a set of heads for what he could get a whole motor for just five years prior.

I think there is very exciting racing today and then there are sometimes when someone is running 25 qualifying laps and they finish by HP not driver ability.

Chuck, Trying not to dissrespect anyone here and certainly its not just the cars, motors or drivers but track conditions and other things.

Who could compete with Jon Stanbrough when he was on his game? Only a few drivers had (or have) the same "high dollar" equipment as the Foxco Team. Look where they are at now? Where is Danny Holtsclaw? When these guys tore up their cars they tore up alot of $$$$$.
Too many guys have quit over the last few years and its all because it cost too much. I myself am a victom of that, I need a $,4,000 injection to finish my motor and I can't afford it, but if I don't get one I know I won't be able to run up front.
I myself HATE rules, I believe in "runnin what you brung" but a series with some limitations would make it easier for guys like me to stay in racing. SPRINT CAR RACING!:checkered:
