Hey Jen I don't normally go out on a limb and say things like this but if anyone saw the mod race Brian Hayden in the blue 24H drove the heck outta that car!!!! Started 16 finished 2nd....I'm basing this off one race but I think the guy deserves a shot.... No sponsors either!! Anyway just my thought....My hats off to him for an exciting follow up to the Sprint Feature!!!!! Takin nothing away from Bradley Sterrett.....

Great opener!
So happy to be well enuf to get out to see my first race this season. (After 2 cancelations.)

Biggest LPS downside was the southernmost main western grandstand entrance/exit being closed. Lots of patrons park down there too. Also does anyone else have issues with wifi service there?
I sure do. Regardless, was happy to see some good racing let alone the tuff spots down between 1&2.

Great to see racing family (the Skidmores, jeff, Abe and peppermint patti oh and you too Ron). Prayers for your lady to get relief from health issues.

Hope to see some more good ones at Bloomington & TSS next weekend

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway - Opening Night 4/11!

There were some similar dynamics to the USAC feature at Lawrenceburg last week. You had a dominant leader who looked to have them covered and a speed demon who had to start in the back, who was rifiling through the field. This week the dominant leader was Chase Stockon, who was powerful and smooth and was fun to watch, especially as he worked his way through the lapped traffic. Once they got to a point, he was never really seriously challenged. Then you had The Madman Robert Ballou who had taken a nasty little tumble with Brady Short, after contact in the heat race, had fixed his damaged race car, had came from the back of the B to finish second and was doing the same in the feature. He would had needed a yellow to have any shot at Chase, as he had already gotten away from the lead pack, but Ballou was all over second place finisher Casey Shuman, as they came down to take the checker. Chase was The Man last night, no doubt, but Robert was The Show. As is often the case.

I had a great time at LPS last night. It was IOW night and that is always special. The racing was good and the LPS deck always gives you the opportunity to visit with your racing friends while you're watching the racing. I finally got to meet Jim Goerge and that was a good thing. I watched most of the night's action with him. And Al and Jack and Ron and Tim. I hang with a pretty rough crowd. LOL Speaking of rough, turn one was pretty rough, but I thought the racers did an excellent job of racing around that.

Good seeing you, too; thanks for the prayers for Earlene, and, yes, I didn't like the closed gate. Two track employees told me they would open it up when the races ended. They didn't! :7:

Is this the new age of the future, established Sprint Car racers like Sterrett and Hayden dominating mods 1st time out?

Sterrett and Hayden both have lots of seat time in modifieds.

DirtHawk92 4/13/15 1:27 AM

C'mon man I know that.... But we Americans play the crap out of AC/DC... That's all I was saying... Lol

As for Sterrett and Hayden my bad... Didn't know they were sprint car men at one time? Don't know them... If Hayden can continue to run all year without sponsors on his own dime... Then Wow!? Guess I need to do more research before posting... Anyway to ur comment... In my opinion if these guys did race sprints at one time and are now running mods what's the big deal? They like racing and it's a $ high dollar hobby if u don't have the sponsors....not sure of cost difference between sprints and mods? But this is Indiana and you've got guys movin from Cali and Arizona to run here!! So competitions xtreme... Lots of young newcomers with talent... I'm just glad I'm around to see it!!:6 Guess I'm kinda partial to mods as that's what I grew up around out in Iowa... But man the non-wingers r freakin awesome!! I understand that's what everyone for the most part likes to watch run.... But hey these other guys that work their tails off all week to make enuff $ to run on the weekend need some love too!! I should know as my Uncle was one of them!!!!!

Hayden is a former track champion at LPS in both classes sprints and mods. Bradley Sterrett raced both sprints and mods last year and is doing some of the same thing again this year. Hayden has been racing for a lot years and is a regular at LPS. Both are very good drivers and lots of fun to watch!! :)
